Absolutely is an ugrade over what we have after Woodhead and BJGE

I think we overpaid for Fred Taylor and think the same type of contract should be offered to Barber

I can't think of Barber coming here without some dread

Barber could easily make this roster as the 3rd or fourth back. personally I would prefer Faulk to return as the vet leader of the group and I want a rookie to go with the 2 headed attack we already have in Woody and BJGE but there is a good chance Faulk doesnt return and I would be ok with Barber instead of the rookie as BJGE and Woody are plenty young.

My opinion is actually pretty simple I think BJGE and Woody cover everything you need at the position (FB aside which is such a minor role on this team). So I would love to upgrade the position with a guy like Ingram but I dont see a need so if you dont get the best rookie I dont really care what else we get be it a lat round choice or aging vet at that point it will be to compliment the two whereas Ingram would potentially be an improvement over the two.

Without some dread. hah! good one.

Pull the trigger Belichick.

Reunite the dynamic duo - Barber and Maroney.

Without making another thread which is probably destined as a one star thread would be the news that SF is not going to be asking Brian Westbrook back this season so the old vet will be on the market soon....might be a nice 3rd depth guy if Morris is released,at least definately better than an injury prone Fred Taylor.

Have you seen his stats/last few seasons? He's pretty mediocre...

If we resigned Maroney I would pull the trigger....

68 yds shy of 1000 in 2009 and 7 tds. Id settle for half of that with what BJGE and Woody could contribute.

The Boys had the 31st worst defense in 2010 and only gave up less than 20 points 4 games. They were usually playing from behind which meant they were passing the ball with Jon Kantna. I know Barber has had his problems but playing with Tommy Brady has to help a little.

Barber would be perfect in Morris's role and would likely gain more playing time.

Pass. Who's the next name RB to hit the market?

What did BB say one time.. Stats are for losers.. hehehehe..

Did you see Fred Taylor or Morris last year? Like I said, he'd be a good option for 3 or 4 rb

Regarding Barber..He was coming back from a knee injury.. throw in the fact that OL stinks, and opponents loaded up to stop the run when romo went down, he's definitely worth the shot

In the washed up RB sweepstakes, I'd rather come out with Portis than Barber, and by a pretty big margin.

Have you seen his OL the past few seasons?

Put him behind a good OL and he will do just fine.
He still runs hard.
