2011 NFL Mock Draft: A three-round projection from Todd McShay - ESPN

That's a draft I could actually live with. Addresses DE, OL, and LB. If Ingram checks out health wise he could be a nice pick but I doubt we go RB in the 1st round.

I like it a lot it covers a number of needs.

I watched every Georgia game for the last few years and Boling is not even close to being a #33 pick. He is fat and slow. I like Watt and that is about it for that draft.

This is a meh draft to me...... Like watt and Ingram but then lose all interest.... I think BB will do better than this...... A big "Meh"

Jabaal Sheard at #74 and you lose interest? Man, this is a tough crowd! ;)

Given that I'd happily trade up for Watt and would consider Sheard in the 2nd, I think this is a mighty fine haul.

Edit: I mentally rearrange the draft so that the Pats spend #74 trading up for Watt, then pick a third back up by trading down from #28 into the 30s. Watt at #12, Ingram at #33, Sheard a few picks later, Carpenter at 60, Boling with the high 3rd. Same players, but somehow it soothes me. ;)

color me shocked... I prefer the Kiper draft class, by a LOT

:) This is indeed a tough crowd. This is a fine draft. And yes, 4 trades to get the same players seems somewhat better.

FRONT SEVEN: Watt and Sheard
OFFENSIVE LINE: Carpenter, Boling (with 125 available for a late center)
RUNNING BACK: Ingram
CORNER: Gilcrest

If McShay has 2 QBs going at 34 and 35, the Patriots will end up trading 33. If you're interested in a QB early in the 2nd, you're probably going to give Bill a call, since there will be other teams in the same position as you, and you know that 33 would definitely be for sale, and probably going to a team that wants a certain qb.

That is a mighty job of rationalizing what seems to be some really strange draft positions of the players.

For me, my knock on this draft class is mostly because I dont think Watt is a player for us. 290# is undersized DE or oversized elephant. I would take Kerrigan first, but would rather trade down.

These mocks are worthless, but fun to read and critique. Fact is, there are going to be trades all over the board. Odds are, the Patriots are going to move around and pile up the picks in the second or third round for one of their first round picks [note: see the Chargers and their 2 second round picks].
