After seeing what the actual offense is, you should probably apologize (figuratively) to Vrabel for automatically lumping him in with rapists and child molestors

Pretty clearly not a "theft" as we generally understand it. That said, when even the supposedly mature, responsible union reps are getting arrested for fighting over bar bills at casinos at 5:00 am...yikes.

In this case I just chalk it up to most people know him as a former Patriot rather then a KC Chief. Just like you wouldn't say former KC Chief Joe Montana even tho that's the last team he played for.

Agreed. He won 3 SBs as a key player on the Patriots' defenses. As a Chief, he's been a veteran presence on bad and decent teams. I wouldn't be surprised if the average NFL fan doesn't even realize that he doesn't play for the Pats anymore.

Also, if Brandon Meriweather had done this, people would be freaking out over how terrible of a person he is. Since it's Vrabel, it's, if anything, funny that something so asinine could be considered a felony. Funny how this forum works sometimes.

Being reported now that he took 8 beers,

Vrabel’s arrest arose from eight bottles of beer | ProFootballTalk

Per KMBC, Indiana Gaming Commissioner Director of Enforcement Kenny Rowan said that Vrabel was seen by an enforcement agent taking “bottles of alcohol from a deli” without paying for them. We’re told that the “bottles of alcohol” were eight bottles of beer.

Hope it was not crappy beer...
