Just wondering what Everyone likes to do?

I get a few of my favorite positional rankings and mock lists and watch at home.

Mostly because it is so long between picks and can do ther things.

Watching Mel and Mcshay fall apart and NFL network versus espn.

I remember waiting so long to pick it seemed forever when we took Vince I could not
believe he fell to us.

The year mcElroy was invited to Draft and fell way out of first round.

Donovan getting booed over Ricky Williams.

Then as mentioned elsewhere the Jets took the bait on DeWayne.
Almost always the Pats surprise.

It also always fun reading old draft mags and seeing McCourty a fifth round grade
(I know they print these way early but still!!!)

OLine picks are anticlimatic though.

I never considered going to a place or Vince's Party but would be nice to chat about upcoming picks before they happen maybe even have mock draft game.

After all is over I come and read everybody's comments at the board here to see all the supporters and detractors.

Sounds like you have fun with it. The interesting part of the draft is the trades. Always fun to see teams jockeying for position to get their guy. And of course the draft blunders by the Jets and Lions is usually fun to watch as well. Although the Lions struck gold with Suh. But Suh was a no-brainer pick. I guess we don't have Matt Millen to kick around anymore. Did they actually hire competent personnell men?

Do you come to the patsfans chat each draft day?

I pound the laptop screaming at the TV, a CORNERBACK, WHAT THE HELL IS HE THINKING!!!!

To be fair, I did praise the rest of the draft and thought BB did an excellent job. One year I was trapped at my niece's first holy communion in a church in Orlando, trying to follow the draft on my wife's blackberry that I pilfered from her pocketbook.

It would be interesting to go back at the draft day thread and see who was right and who was wrong.

Down South we like to cook for events and the Draft is definitely an event!

For the Prime-Time First Round, I will cook Rib-Eyes. I am always looking for an excuse to "Practice" as my other hobby is competitive cooking and the World Championship Steak Cook-Off is May 21st. I was 10th last year and missed a check by less than four points and first by eleven. My "Double Barreled Steak Blaster" took 3rd for Rig Construction, so at least I didn't go home empty handed.

Day two, I will fire up my smoker "Puff the Magic Dragon" and toss in a couple of Sausage fatties for breakfast, a couple pork butts, 5 or 6 slabs of ribs, and a couple racks of stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon. Now I know what some of you may be thinking, but we don't have cholesterol down South!

I time the peppers to be ready a little before the Saints selection, so I have an appetizer while I wait for our pick. The ribs I time for the second round pick and the pork butts smoke until I go to bed or they hit 195 internal. Then I wrap them up and put them into a cooler and save them for Day 3.

I spend my draft day itself moving between NFL network in my theater room, the computer in my office refreshing Saintsreport (I really need a lap-top or a better TV in the office), and Puff out back making sure the temps are where I want them. I keep my Mike D Draft Guide with me and update the picks as they come off the board. I have a stack of Mike D Draft reports with all of the picks hand written in as they come off the board. I then try to update the UDFA which can be a tad daunting, but I always get the entire NFC South done for reference later.

Lately the draft has has an unfortunate habit of falling during my family's one big vacation of the year. I'll be in a hotel room with the whole Patchick clan...any good tips for following the draft on an iphone? I'd like a source that's clear about trades as well as posting the player names.

Getting a slingbox and the slingbox app is the best way to do it. Getting it setup isn't major and it's relatively inexpensive considering the technology. Other than that, I was on the road for work for the second day and monitored it on NFL.com. It wasn't fantastic but they did eventually post the compensation for the trades.

Thanks -- I'm not looking to watch the actual coverage, I'd just like the most up-to-date, fact-filled feed possible for periodic check-ins.

As much help as ya'll have given me with my Saints Report Mock, I certainly owe ya'll one. Just let me know if you make it down to Louisiana and I will fire up a pit of some sort and cook some meat or if you prefer, I make a pretty fine pot of Gumbo as well or if they are in season we can boil some Crawfish. I promise I can show ya'll a good time!

Definitely follow the Pats twitter feed for trades and picks. They get it in first. Usually ahead of the tv even. With iphone it's pretty easily to switch between one page for say the Patsfans forum, another for the Pats twitter feed, and another for the NFL tracker. I don't know if you can get NFL network on your iphone, i think it costs extra, but that would be sweet too.

Sounds like a delicious way to do the draft. LOL.

Crawfish, gumbo, bacon wrapped-stuffed jalapenos ... oh my! :singing:
