HBO would have loved to keep the Jets and their flamboyant coach on the show for a second consecutive year but the Jets say no.

'Hard Knocks' opting out of AFC East - NFL Nation Blog - ESPN

Which team would you think would make for a great addition to that series which has yet to produce a team that went to the SB?

I think Dallas would be the most logical choice but since Jerry Jones is probably not thrilled by the prospect of his team being selected I doubt they will take the honor.

My pick is the Baltimore Ravens who have several egotistical and self righteous players and a coach that appears a bit on the abrasive side.

The Raiders. If we're going look for comedy, look no further.

I'm actually surprised the Green Beans didn't want it again. They must have given up on selling those last few thousand PSLs.

All 3 teams you list (NYJ, DAL, BAL) have already had seasons on the series.

The heavy rumor is that it's the Tampa Bay Bucs this year.

First you eliminate teams that were already on (Cowboys, Jets, Ravens).

Next eliminate teams most likely to refuse to do Hard Knocks (Pats, Colts, Steelers, Falcons etc.).

Then eliminate teams that people would not tune in to see (Bills, Panthers, Jaguars, etc.).

Now figure what teams would jump at the opportunity that HBO would consider? Tampa Bay, who didn't sell out a game last year, made a playoff run, and has a coach that seems to enjoy giving sound bites certainly seems to be a likely candidate.

Pete Carroll and the Seahawks might be another.

Perhaps the Eagles with Andy Reid, Mike Vick and Kevin Kolb providing drama.

The Raiders would have to be a consideration, people tuning in to see what Al might say or do.

I don't see Andy Reid buying into the showmanship.

No Jesters though! How will BB know whom to sign off the street?

I hope they still experience 'Hard Knocks' in other ways :rocker:

It appears that Tampa Bay is the leading candidate.

Buccaneers could be headed for Hard Knocks | ProFootballTalk

Check that, this morning's latest report from PFT says that the Bucs are in the mix, with several other teams, as opposed to their info yesterday, which stated that Tampa Bay was the leader.

It also says that the other candidates are not known, but Florio gives his estimation, and reminds us that Houston wanted it last year. He also predicts that such teams as SF, DEN, MIA, DAL and SEA 'could possibly' be interested. It is worth of note however, as jmt57 pointed out, that DAL has already done a season, so I don't know if HBO would be inclined to repeat or not. I guess anything's possible at this point, and we'll know more in the next following weeks/months ahead--if there even is a damn season

I would like to see the Bears, Texans or Chargers but Tampa I would not be disappointed with.

Petey Carroll would give interesting male cheerleader sound bites. Since Tamper can't even sell out to the homies why would the nation want to see them?

I have heard HBO nixed the idea of using the Raiders as they dont want the public to confuse Hard Knocks with their old hit show Tales from the Crypt.

Dallas, so it's a rerun, it combines two critical elements, Jerry Jones and a Ryan brother.

Do you think they even bothered to ask the patriots? Would be sweet to see even though there's no way it would ever happen(Bills' last season maybe?).

As much as I hate the Jets, any other team is going to be a letdown compared to last year. I can see why the Jets wouldn't want to do it again because a lot of people came off looking bad in the show most notably the people who run the team (in particular, Mike Tannebaum).

I would like to see the Patriots on it, though not likely. Dallas shouldn't even be considered since they've done it twice already.

Did not realize they did it twice. That's interesting.

Obviously the Raiders would be great....who doesn't want to see a head coach throwing punches?

The Chiefs could be very interesting. Seeing how they work mixed with Haley's short fuse sounds like great tv to me.
