Over 1.7 million people have taken a quiz on Sporcle.com asking them if they can name all 32 NFL teams in 6 minutes.

Interestingly enough, only about 1/3 of people who take the quiz can. [FWIW, even with the handicap of forcing myself to do it division by division, starting from the NFC West, it took me less than 2 minutes.]

Even more interesting are the results.

Without looking . . . which three teams are named by the highest percentage of people who take the quiz, and which three are the lowest?

It took me a solid 30 seconds to remember the Cowboys exist. Finished with 3:27. Could have done better, but I haven't been thinking about football much lately.

As a faithful follower of the league for many years, I can't imagine someone claiming to be a fan who couldn't get all 32 correct.

I did it in a minute and 42 seconds.

Hung up on the Saints for 10 seconds at the end.

I'll say Panthers, Titans and Jaguars were the least well known.

Since people fill these out by divisions and the AFCEAst was first, I'll try Patriots, Phins and Jets as top 3. Or maybe I'm thinking too much.

Patriots, Cowboys and Steelers. Bears, Redskins, Packers and Giants are others I might put up there.

finished with 4:35 left.

I've taken this before, but...

Titans last this time. Also got a little hung up on the Seahawks.

I got three wrong.
The Squealers, Clots and Jests.
Go figure....

It took me a few extra seconds to finish because it wouldn't accept JEST.

Didn't know how to ******* spell tennessee :(

Took me 47 seconds.

highest:
Dallas Cowboys
Pittsburgh Steelers
Washington Redskins

lowest (assuming you mean name correctly):
tennessee titans
st. louis rams
arizona cardinals

(i didn't look)

edit: was tempted to change it to look like the genius i think i am, but i figured someone might have caught me.

Quite a nice job that Bobby Kraft has done here in New England, turning a second tier franchise into the most widely named franchise in the league in a quiz like this in less than 20 years. Of the 1,774,576 people who've taken this quiz, only 5,324 didn't name the Patriots in six minutes.

Good on ya, Mr. Kraft and thanks from this fan.

And remember, it doesn't matter whether they love us or hate us, but they damn well know who the New England Patriots are.

It's about 5.3%, or about 100,000 ignorants.

Not to get political, but more than that voted for the guy I don't like. (Which one I leave for the reader to put in themselves because I don't care what people on a football message board say about politics - Hey, if you are bent out of shape sorry I mentioned it.):D

And you wonder how many can only name their local franchise because they are not fans.

If I didn't have to spell, I would have been alot quicker! But did it in 4 minutes!

took m 71 seconds, with the damn tb bucs taking me like 15 seconds alone

Some interesting science behind this quiz. It's a good way to see how people mentally categorize information.

By going division-by-division, one can systematically name all 32 teams in 1-2 minutes.

If instead you name your favorite team, then division rivals, then the big name teams (Dallas, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, San Francisco) I bet you wind up tripping up, naming teams twice, and missing the Jaguars, Cardinals and Panthers of the world.
