The Refs Screwed the Bears?????????

I live in Illinois. 99% of my friends are Bears fans. All i keep hearing from them is how the refs screwed DA BEARS over...

WTF?!>!??!??

HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD THIS?

Is it a Bear fan thing?
Aren't we the ones that got screwed?
Wasn't the Chad Jackson PI non-call the worst part of the officiating?

What the hell part of this game did i miss ??
Every single Bear fan thinks the refs were totally on our side and they get Enraged when i say that i feel the opposite.

I work out at a gym outside Chicago and I did talk to a couple of fans who were rightfully concerned the way TB and the Pat offense marched downfield.

I told them they were missing Mike Brown pretty bad in the secondary.

yeah the pats drove up and down on them. Made me very happy.. The drops and fumbles have got to stop though. It's truly amazing how good Brady is after all the drops, all the fumbles, all the tips, flukes, lack of calls.

Unreal how good he is.

Thats clearly just sour grapes by bears fans. The bears were the beneficiaries of the important calls. They received 2 questionable PI calls as well as a holding call in the red zone for a first down. I commented on how I thought the refs did a great job in the first half of not getting in the way of hard nose football, but the second half was not as patriot friendly.

refs were plain horrible..and if anything they got away with more that could of helped them win

heres few more..why wasnt Tillman ejected for nearly starting a brawl? the PI against Hobbs .. Hawkins..missed CJ call.

they need to stop whining and move on..they think we get calls our way a lot because we were champs and all but they clearly didnt see last year's denver game and few games this year

refs were horrible last year..and are this year. get on..all teams can blame a loss on refs

refs screwed the bears? hahaha. There is absolutely no mention of that in any of the articles I have read. To answer your original question, yes it is a bears fan thing.

Yes,it's true. The ref's screwed the Bear's because they couldn't call a holding penalty on Maroney's TD run or offensive PI on Watson. The plain truth is they used up all their bad call cards. Thus couldn't incriminate themselves in front of a National audience like they did for SB40.

What you should really tell them is that the NFC is like single a baseball. The Bears play in a division that consists of the Vikings, Packers and Lions. They have already lost twicew in the AFC east and would have 4 or 5 losses if they had to play the physical teams of our division 6 times.

10 of the Bears 13 points were a direct result of questionable to awful calls againts the Patriots.

Why anyone with a half a brain and a set of eyes would even think that the Bears got screwed by the refs is amaxing.

The refs sucked all around. Had the Pats lost, we'd be b!tching about it a whole lot more.

It pretty much comes down to the fact that da Bearz fans have been sold this bill of goods that they, not the Dolts, were the jugernauts of the NFL and destined to bring the Windy City another Lombardi trophy. They are also coming to the realization that Rex Grossman is more likely the next Jake Plummer, not the next Tom Brady.

After having been told by all of the so-called "experts" that they were the class of the NFL and seeing them stumble now that teams are figuring out their O gameplan hurts their fragile little psyches. Boo-frickin'-hoo.

Add yet another team to the list of those who couldn't beat us because of the refs.

I'd love to hear which specific calls Bears fans can site which not only offset the calls against the Pats but according to them were worse against the Bears.

The Bears TD was a direct result of two awful calls, the Hawkins PI and the (Hobbs?) holding at the goalline. Even Bears fans should admit these were both bad calls.

The 2nd PI call was questionable. You can argue it both ways. Fact is it went against the Pats. Fact is it gave the Bears 3 points.

The non-PI call when the receiver face-guarded Jackson without ever turning around was a bad call unless I simply don't understand the rules. I was always told that if you make contact with the receiver while never even looking at the ball that it was PI. Something about playing the ball and not the man.

Bears fans probably do what fans always do: point to less significant plays and start playing the 'if' game. You see this all the time: Lets say the refs missed a call on a 1st and 10 at the team's own 25. Ignore the fact that it was only first down and the team had 75 yards to go. "Had the refs not made a ball call the team would have driven for a TD."

Bears fans should be thrilled the team had a chance to win when the only way they could stop the other team was via turnover.

The refs were horrible. From where I sat, it looked like the refs did everything to protect the Bears from themselves.

Also, while the 2nd review right before the half was the correct call, the 1st one was hogwash. Caldwell's arm was under the ball the entire time. And, unless I missed a rule change, I was pretty sure the ground couldn't cause a fumble. With that in mind, Caldwell's right elbow landed in bounds. That should have been a reception.

If Bears fans are complaining about the refs, just mention the clear holding calls that the refs ignored that allowed many of the runs and Grossman to complete some of his passes. I was also under the impression that the O-linemen couldn't grab a hold of the D-linemen and throw them to the ground. Which happened on a couple of occasions.

wow...i didn't really get mad a the chad jackson non call initially because I only get mad at PI calls when they are really ticky tacky like the Hawkins one or the Denver game last year. But after hearing the rule over and over again on ESPN and through the game that the player must turn his head and look for the ball, it is clear the bears defender is doing neither. I intially thought the Bears defender tipped the ball and CJ dived to try to catch the tip. Its clear that the bears defender hit him in the face and made contact with CJ.

DaBruinz, on the Cadwell catch the ball moved when it hit the ground. On a pass, the receiver has to have complete control of the ball until the end of the play. Even if the ball doesnt touch the ground, if its moving over the player while the player goes outside its not a catch. On a running play or after the catch the ground doesnt cause a fumble.
