Hear me out.

Think of bands that can fill stadiums. They are old. Function, I guess of twitter, facebook, or myspace making more bands moderately successful, but not like Rolling Stones in 1974.

Other than sports teams there will be little revenue for stadiums.

A UFL team has what, 6 or 7 home games where at least the stadium gate receipts might out do the Revolution.

In the meantime jags can play for he NE UFL franchise during a lock out. Minor assistant coaches can get a paycheck too. (Not Belichick, but guys like the strength and conditioning coach.) People that sell beer and programs can still work the stands at a UFL game.

Afterward it can be the "minor league" team all those promising, but not on the final 53 can go to.

And during the lockout players can work out with the New England UFL team if they are rehabbing an injury, or an incoming rookie who should meet a coach and go over a playbook suspiciously similar to what that assistant used when with the Patriots.

Tell me why this is a good or a bad idea.

No, bring one to Portland Maine. Redclaws and Pirates are doing well. Seadogs...sometimes. But all we need is a football team  .

Bad idea. Can't compare to the real thing. I won't watch.

I wouldn't watch and i'd hold it against the Kraft's forever.

My concern would be the condition of the field should the NFL suddenly return. But then you could argue that if the grounds crew can keep the field in good shape after it's torn up by an NFL game...

Because it would be too close to the Hartford Colonials. One would have to die, and it would likely be the Colonials.

So no, f*ck Gillette, I need at least one local Pro team here in CT.

They put it back together after New England Revolution games and other places have put turf back in place after baseball games. (No, I'm not advocating baseball at Gillette.:))

That Field turf can get real muddy after a rain storm.

Nobody's really interested in that league.

You should be. It is the only way we are going to destroy the slavery that is college football.

But there is no way there should be one at Gillette. The UFL plays fridays or saturdays, you cannot possibly recover the stadium fast enough for Sundays.

Now an AFL team at the garden would be awesome.
