The good news is that we could start the season with the roster we have and likely be as good as last year. especially if we re-signed Light. The only real "holes" are the backup running back, since we only have only three running backs coming back: Green-Ellis, Woodhead and Clayton.

If we re-sign Light before the draft and keep Mankins for this year, we would only be talking about upgrades, not the filling of any holes.

1) When are the Navy players available (esp. Kettani)?

2) What about Sergio Brown and Josh Barrett (safeties)?

3) Finally, was McGowan tendered?

Thanx

With no additions the roster looks middle of the road average, the players in bold are run of the mill JAGs or flat out suck. I guess it is a glass half full / half empty scenario.

If Light and Mankins are back the Patriots can go full hog to upgrade the JAG fest.

1) I don't know. I'll consider them when I see them in camp. We've been waiting for a long time.

2a) Brown is listed in the original post as a special teamer. Brown and Slater won what I like to call the "special-teams only" positions. I understand that Brown playerd a bit of safety, but here was here for special teams.

2b) I forgot Barrett who, as of now, would compete with Brown for one of the special teams spots.

3) McGowan is an unresticted free agent.

Let us presume the re-signing of Light.

Do I understand you to say that last year's team with no additions would be an average team when the fact is that last year's team with no additions finished at 14-2?

There are a couple of minor changes already incorporated. We've lost Ojinnaka and G. Warren. We have gained Kaczur and Ty Warren in their place. We've also added Bodden.

I believe he is lamenting having 17 "JAGs" on the team. This is the Patriots, they should all be supa stars.

53 pro bowlers would be sweet.. assuming that Light and Mankins will both be back is optimistic. If either one of the them does not return then there is an immediate need to draft an offensive lineman with one of the top 4 picks. If both are brought back they can really load on the front seven (this is my wish!).

Ur including edelman price (who has only been around for a year) and page in that jag fest? you have got to be kidding we haven't even seen price play except for one game where the announcers singled him out as looking very good. in that same game Edelman started took a punt back to the house and went close to 100 yards. As far as page goes many people on this board think he's good enough to start in our saftey rotation (BB also tendered him at a 2nd round level). The draft picks will do pretty well to be better than those players.

Even if we sign Light, I consider the OL the team's biggest area of need.
