From what Bunting hears/feels:
NFL Draft rumors: Post-Combine | National Football Post

• The more sources I talk with the more I get the feeling that the Patriots will not only be in the market for a rush linebacker in round one, but might be willing to buck the trend and look at a smaller/quicker rush guy, staying away from their more patented bigger build.

Ah crap, now i have to wait till the 2012 draft.

I still say Aldon or bust. No point changing the whole scheme (i.e., putting Wilfork at DE) to make up for the inadequacies of one player.

I'm telling you, Chris Carter in the late second / third if they don't get anyone in round one. He's great on ST too, and a team leader.

Aldon and Miller are really the only ones worthy a 1st round pick, and it makes sense if Aldon is gone not to get a OLB in the first. But when i read this part of the sentence "staying away from their more patented bigger build" , too me it sounds like they are looking for guys like Sam Acho.

The pass rush solution is already on the roster. On 3rd and long, send in Woodhead. Let those 6'8" OTs try and stop this mini machine on the edge. Woodhead might even go between their legs.

Anyone else here think he was going to suggest GRONK? :D

Can you tell me more about this guy?

And the dis-information campaign begins . . . .

I agree with this assessment as well.. I think they most likely will get another Jermaine Cunningham in the 2nd or 3rd round.. I also am starting to think that they won't be grabbing the DE's that everyone thinks they will grab.. BB's recent philosophy is grabbing big DT's and converting them.. Look for a possible Phil Taylor pick..

There's only 1 undersized rush LB worthy of a 1st round pick. And to get him, BB would have to package 17 and 28.

Von Miller??????

People suggest Miller is puny. He is up to 246 and 6'3" and is essentially bigger than Mayo. He is bigger the 3-4 Colts DE Robert Mathis. He is bigger than Harrison and Dumervil who ain't too bad!
He is 1" shorter and 4lbs lighter than Vrabel. We could always give him shoe lifts for his cleats and a couple of rocks in his Jock.
I say let's move up to get that pipsqueak Miller! We could have him hang out with Woodhead, Branch and Welker.
DW Toys

and yet he has the pats picking ayers?

riiiiight

Carter is an undersized kid who appears to be too stiff to play in space at LB. He's quick off the edge and he'll work hard to try and make a play, but he's too easily washed out in the run game. His best opportunity is to understudy Robert Mathis for Indy.

Or get very lucky with a Wilfork-like slide.

Im happy with any passrusher taken. Beggars can't be choosers. If the Pats draft Miller, BB must have seen enough in him to warrant the pick.

Good chance Miller is among the first prospects the Pats have in for a visit - which will set all the mockin' to rockin'. I think there actually is a German word for this: mochenrochen. Or maybe machenrachen?
