from CNNSI: Seau, coach clash in parking lot

Patriots linebacker Junior Seau, who was placed on injured reserve with a right arm injury on Monday, recently had to be separated from linebackers coach Pepper Johnson in an altercation that spilled into the team's parking lot, SI's Michael Silver reports in this week's Sports Illustrated.

Now that Seau has a broken arm and is on IR and is already probably down in the dumps. Yeah, lets dump more crap on him. Just because his name his hot on the top of lists so folks will link to your story and you can get hits.

Junior has a lot of passion when he plays, just like Rodney. Let's hope he heals well enough to come back and get in the mix again. On a side note, along with watching them on my new HDTV, the screen was absolutely crystal clear when he was theismannized. I almost fell out of my chair. Seeing hat kind of break 2 times in one lifetime, is 2 times too much. bleh.

I remember hearing that when Ted Johnson left the team in 2001 or 2002 (I can't remember) saying he was unhappy with his role that it was because he'd had a big fight with Pepper Johnson. Initially it was reported that Johnson and BB had a screaming match in the weight room but I later heard that the fight was about a disagreement Ted and Pepper had.

It isn't surprising that Seau went off script on a play. One of the reasons I was hesitant when we signed him was because of the fact that he likes to freelance.

I do think it is a non-story. Players and coaches probably get into it far more than the public. You see it on the sidelines from time to time. So I would be surprised if it didn't happen more frequently off the field.

If he is on IR he is done for the season. Let's hope the LB core will be all revised so we do not nead him next year.

The only interesting aspect of this to me is the fact that BB, appearing on WEEI yesterday offered remarks about Seau and specifically noted how they'd asked Seau to do things differently than he was used to previously

As much as I like Seau it seems to me that the coach was in the right and hopefully put him in his place. When individual players start deviating from the Defensive scheme, everythings going to start breaking down.
