Offseason is boring as hell. I thought it would be fun to put together a dumb little game where any player ever is available to play in BB's scheme. Who would you pick and why? All players assumed in their prime.

Here's mine:

Defense
RE: Reggie White
NT: Ted Washington
LE: Richard Seymour

Joker: Lawrence Taylor
Will: Ray Lewis
Mike: Levon Kirkland
Sam: Ted Hendricks

LCB: **** Lane
RCB: Ronnie Lott
FS: Ed Reed
SS: Rodney Harrison

Offense
LT: Orlando Pace
LG: Logan Mankins
C: Dermontti Dawson
RG: John Hannah
RT: Anthony Munoz

QB: TFB
RB: Earl Campbell

TE: Mark Bavarro
Split End: Stanley Morgan
Flanker: Jerry Rice
Slot: Troy Brown

Defensively, this is a stout, athletic, punishing group. Some athletic freaks, some big bodies, all violent hitters. OLB's have length to clog passing lanes. All front-7 players versatile enabling different sets.

Offense is ball control with the linemen, and a finesse LT to balance it out. Two great possession guys who are great route guys and the best Patriots receiver ever for good measure. Versatile TE and the GOAT pulling the trigger.

What say ye, fine folks of patsfans?

You should watch Basketball,Hockey and/or Baseball now

It makes the football offseason go so much faster

Gimme the 01 squad over those guys :D

Special Teams: Mosi Tatupu

I guess this is a super football geek thread. I just thought it would be a cool way to build a madden-esque fantasy roster for the scheme. It's really cool to think about the kinds of things you could accomplish with this roster.

Would be interesting to see Night train play under today's rules. From some of the videos I saw on him(He's way before my time lol) he was just mauling people.

Any 22 without "Mean" Joe Green just doesn't feel right.

Yeah dude, he was an animal. It's not well known but he was epic in coverage as well. Walk-ons who make it are always the coolest players.

Joker: Lawrence Taylor No-brainer
Will: Ray Lewis

No big arguments with your Front 7. Still -- why not Jason Taylor?

LCB: **** Lane
RCB: Ronnie Lott No-brainer, but I think at the other safety position
FS: Ed Reed No-brainer
SS: Rodney Harrison

I'm sorry, but you're sacrificing too much speed in the secondary by trying to force three safeties in there.

Offense
LT: Orlando Pace
LG: Logan Mankins
C: Dermontti Dawson
RG: John Hannah
RT: Anthony Munoz

QB: TFB No-brainer
RB: Earl Campbell

Jim Brown was pretty tough

TE: Mark Bavarro No-brainer
Split End: Stanley Morgan
Flanker: Jerry Rice No-brainer
Slot: Troy Brown

I hate to say it, but Hines Ward is probably better than Troy, for the superior blocking if nothing else. And there are surely a bunch of choices better than Stanley Morgan.

Good start. :)
