Starting Guards - Connolly, Wendell
Starting Center - Koppen
Backup CG Ohrnberger

And continue to ask how important it is to upgrade at OG.

You kidding? So you don't think that is an outstanding and deep collection of talent?

;-)

About as high as a certain aging Dolphins RB.

Brady has no need for protection. The golden locks radiate a forcefield of protection. A gentle tossle and defenders fall helplessly to the plastic turf. A wink to the gals in section 114, a momentary pose for the overhead camera, and a gentle calming breeze through the stadium as a perfect spiral descends into the outstretched arms of one of his many.......midget receivers.

In my opinion, if Light is resigned, offensive guard is the highest priority on the team. OL, in general, is a huge position of need.

Here's a list of what I think are the offensive lineman signed for 2011:

Conolly (17)
Kaczur (62) (reportedly going to be released)
Koppen (119)
LeVoir (2)
Maneri (0)
Ohrnberger (0)
Vollmer (24)
Wendell (2)
Austin (0)

Number in parenthesis is number of NFL starts

We've been assured in other threads that guards don't matter.

So, time to draft more tight ends!

Mankins is the starting LG.

Are you assuming Mankins won't be playing here?

How'd that sort of Chicken counting go for the first few games of last season?
He wasnt going to be paid 600,000 a game last year. Obviously this year is a different set of circumstances.

He has to play to get money this time.

EDIT: YOU KEEP BEATING ME TO IT, ANDY! :enranged:

I have G/DE/OLB as 1a/1b/1c, assuming Light is re-signed.

Just depends on who's available where.

C is not too far behind either, not sure how much longer we can depend on Koppen there

I don't have a good understanding of how this operates:

Does he actually have to play to get paid or does he just have to show up? Is being on the active roster enough to get his game checks? Or does he have to be starting? What's the deal?

Show up....since starting is up to BB, not Mankins.

What happens if he's cut?

Hmmm....I'm assuming if he shows up that it'll be just like cutting anyone else that's under contract.

If they cut him and he doesn't sign he'd probably just be a FA and it would be like the tag never happened, except the Pats wouldn't have it anymore.

Cutting the player you tagged sounds very strange though.
