a really good coverage safety/nickelback, better cb depth, better olb depth/pass rush, starting five tech, starting og/c/rt, rb depth w/a home run threat, 1 wr-big speed burner, te depth, more pressure packages on d, brady clutch like he used to be:)

Need: OLB/DE and OL
Want: DB depth, RB depth, deep threat WR.
WHY?: TE depth

Wow, thank god for this thread because I had no idea what was what with this team... But now I do!

Imagine if the OP was a lions fan

His initial post would have had to be continued on the next page :snob:

I agree with this assessment right here.

Your 'needs' are right on, IMO. O-Line, and Front 7.
-------

Wants:

RB : If we choose a RB in the draft, or even add a lower-mid veteran presence, I think the issue is solved immediately. We may or may not get the HR threat that we all want, but an early (1st thru 3rd) or mid rd pick should be just fine. We can also add an additional later pick as added competition, and even the possibility of a cut/low-mid level vet as additional competition/depth, but I do not personally think that much money will be sunk here. Then again, just when you have a hunch on something, Belichick can surprise you, and feel a different way.

CB : With McCourty and Bodden, plus Arrington, Butler, and even Wilhite, I believe that we will add a CB or even 2 via the draft. With the addition of a pick or two as added competition, the return of Bodden, and Patricia as a coach, I think this area will be fine too.

EDIT: Not just fine, but certainly improved (CB). Bodden and McC as the starters, of course that not only helps right there, but also moves a combo of

Arrington
Butler
Wilhite (have a hunch he may not be here if our draft pick(s) look okay in camp)
Draft pick or 2 + possible cut addition/low-mid level vet

as competition and depth for the other 3-4 spots

One thing right now: a new CBA.

This is pretty much dead on though I think even if we can't land one of the needs/wants we're still favorites next season. With 8 picks in the top 4 rounds though it's hard to see that not happening.

Thank you.

The Pats are screwed if Butler has to play very much.

You forgot the inside linebackers, punter, kicker, long snapper, a FB, and a third QB.

Other than that I think you got every position on every NFL team and summed up every single 'Pats need to do this thread' of the last six months; congratulations!

By the way, TE depth? How many tight ends do you want on the roster?

you know BB. The one position we're set at is TE. Therefore, he'll draft a TE in the first round just to freak out everybody on this board. lol.
