One of my fav games was the 1986 pats vs miami game in the OB... Grogan came in for a inj Eason and brought the pats the afc east title and first REGULAR season win in Miami since 66....

The Patriots 2004 season opener vs. the Colts. Brady was the equivalent of Michael Jordan in his prime during that game.

I especially remember the sick QB scramble with Brady hitting David Givens completely on the other side of the field. I said to myself "Damn this dude is unreal!"

Kind of an odd one, but @NYJ, 2001...
To me, it was the first HUGE game the Brady/Belichick Patriots won on the road in a hostile environment. After that win the team started believing in themselves. It wasn't just the win, it was HOW they won.
If anyone remembers that game, the Patriots trailed 13-0 at halftime. Brady was getting mauled and the NYJ pass rushers were in the backfield all day. Charlie Weis was credited with making a seemingly benign adjustment at halftime, but it ended up changing the tenor of the game.
Brady was doing a lot of 5, 7 step drops on passing downs and he was getting a ton of pressure on him. Weis changed to almost 3 step drops exclusively and shortened up the pass routes. It worked and the Pats went on to score 17 in the second half and the defense stiffened and only allowed a field goal.
Pats took the lead, 17-16, late in the 4th quarter (and IIRC a 40+ yard pass to Fred Coleman, of all people, was a KEY play in the winning drive), but the NYJ and Testaverde got the ball back with a chance to win with a field goal.
The Patriots sealed the game with a Terrel Buckley interception (I think around midfield or the Pats side of the field, can't remember, but it was on the near sideline on TV).
This game was the first close game the Patriots with Brady and Belichick would win on the road with a lot on the table (going into the game, the Patriots were 6-5 and the NYJ were 7-3). Very memorable game for me...

(1) Brady to Branch on a nifty play for a TD.
(2) Harrison picks of Ben for a TD and Vrabel slams Ben to the turf blocking.
(3) The Bus was talking crap to Bruschi and on the next play Bruschi hit him causing the Bus to fumble.
(4) Its always a great time when your team beat the Steelers at home but this game knocked them out of the playoffs.

I was at that game. I loved it, too.

If we are going for more obscure games, I'd go for the Chargers game that year. The Pats were 1-3 and down to the Fluties by about 10 points in the 4th quarter. Our Tom lead them back for the win, of course.

Imagine if he hadn't. The Pats would have been 1-4, largely out of the race and the temptation to insert Montana Drew back in the starting line-up at some point might have been a lot higher.

Seems like a HUGE, underappreciated game to me.

And my vote was also SB 36. I guess this wasn't much of a question given the overwhelming vote!

Hmmm....that's a good one. That's probably in the running for favorite regular season game for me.

Super Bowl 36 is my favorite of all-time in any sport...it was the 1st championship one of my teams won.

Obviously Spygate broke out a week before and LT made a classy comment as usual about the Pats (in addition to claiming SD would beat NE 8 times out of 10 or something like that) and Norv Turner had like a confidential team because he was supposedly worried about the Pats stealing their signals. Then the game starts, the confident Chargers go 3-and-out and the Pats march down the field on their first possession that ended with an awesome TD catch by Ben Watson.

Super Bowl 36 is #1 but this is my favorite regular season game as well. All week we were having trash talkers tell us we were going to be exposed. The big, bad Chargers were going to come in an get revenge for the playoff loss the year before. We then proceeded to beat the piss out of them.

My right arm was sore the next morning because I was swinging my fist so hard and so many times when Watson scored the opening TD. It was the classic "Everyone can shut up now" moment.

I agree. This was my favorite Pats game, too. I love how the Steelers always try to intimidate teams with their big talk, terrible towels, and physical play. The Pats just steamrolled them that night.

Dec 22, 1985. The Pats beat the Bengles to make the playoffs for the first time in years. I had season tix and when the game ended the 5 security guards station at the field immediately got overwhelmed by the fans. That is the famous goalpost game where the fans tore the posts down and git electracuted while walking them down Rt. 1. Me and a buddy went to the Patriots logo at the 50 yard line and twisted one up, sat down and smoked it up. May have been the happiest day of my life up to that point in time.
