Sorry to hear the news about Junior. I was wrong about him and glad that I said so a few weeks ago.

He has shown me that he still has something left in the tank. He did a great job with the Patriots and it was more than I had expected.

So, let's swallow our pride and beg him to come back next year. He will still have something to bring and next year he can be in uniform and on the field when he gets his SB Championship ring. This year he has earned and desrves a ring for his contribution but sadly he won't be playing in the big one.

JUNIOR SEAU, please don't "graduate" now. Come back and be a part of the Patriots next year. You still can play the game at a high level, you proved that!

I hope he can continue to play like he has.

BTW: when we win the SB, does he still get a ring. If so, we should win it for him.

Of course he does. You have to pull a Terry Glenn not to get a ring. Junior has been a huge contributor and an emotional leader and will be first in line to get the ring, a la Ray Bourque with the Colorado Avalanche or Rodney Harrison with his arm in a sling in 2003.

Oh yes, he still get's a ring. He contributed to it and the team will "give him' one just like everyone else.

Next year, he can be out there in uniform celebrating with his team mates.

Re: The Official:Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

i don't understand any of the "was this his last game?" sentiment. I can only assume they (sports media) instantly go there when an old player suffers a season ending injury, and Seau's previous retirement would obviously add to that.

that said, the guy was having a great year and it isn't a career ending injury. there is no way NE doesn't try to bring him back next year, especially considering their lack of LB depth.

Re: The Official:Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

Would like to see a LB drafted in the higher rounds to be an understudy to Seau next season. We'll still need to see a FA or two, plus Gardner will be back. We need youth at this position.

Re: The Official:Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

The fans at this site complaining about Seau celebrating, and being fired up, will now get their way. No more emotional leader. No more leading tackler. No more hard hitting from Seau at the LOS.

At least until next year, if we get him back!

Re: The Official:Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

I really hope he can come back ... but this may be too much.

Re: The Official:Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

I'd like to see Jr. back as well. He certainly seemed to accept his new role and became an integral part of the D. I can't say that I was too excited when they signed him (not against it per se, just thought he was done), but he's proven he still has something left in the tank. Even if it's as a mentor to a young LB.

The one thing that struck me about him was this. He's a guy that has only played 9 games in a Patriots uniform, yet he had tears coming down after that loss to the Jests.

Re: The Official:Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

It would be great, NUT, but whatever ... it's simply astonishing to see that much effort and selfless team play from a guy who has all the money he needs and steps out of retirement. I'm so, so sorry for his injury. See you in the Hall of Fame, big man!

Re: The Official:Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

At the time he got hurt, Seau was the Pats best ILB. IMO, this loss will hurt the Pats more than Harrision's injury from the Indy game.

Re: The Official:Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

Wow, he is such a great player, he played great in his short time here, and I was watching PTI and when I heard Wilbon say that he thought Seau would return one more year...I felt a lot better. Not that Wilbon is smart but there is a chance he will come back if he wants, hes a class act and I hope he comes back for ONE more year.

Re: The Official:Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

As soon as I saw his arm yesterday I said right out loud "he's done for the season".

And as soon as I heard it was true, I thought "he's coming back next year".

He's got plenty left in the tank. Its not like he blew out a knee, ankle or shoulder....He can come back 100% from this.

Hey, if we make it to the SB, can he be removed from IR and given a roster spot?

Re: The Official:Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

I hope he comes back, the guy is a class act and an asset to this team

A bad injury to any player sucks. But, when it's to a guy who is playing his heart out and knows he's running out of time, it tragic.

I have a feeling he will be back, I hope it's in a Patritos uniform.

Re: The Official:Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

Junior... You are the man! Tough right to the end. Get your ring this year (you deserve it!)...and then come back next year for another!

Re: The Official:Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

Hope he comes back. He exceeded everyone's expectations by a mile.

But if he does return, it will just be something else next year. His recent injury history is well documented. I don't think it's an issue of what he has left in the tank as much as it is can he stay healthy enough to show it on the field?

I would love to see him come back

I got a sick feeling in my stomach when I saw Seau on the ground the way he was, same feeling I got when Harrison went down last year. I hope Seau decides to come back, but even if he doesn't I want him to get that ring. I'm telling you, if the Patriots win the Super Bowl and Seau gets to raise the Lombardi trophy, I'm probably going to be in tears. I want the Pats to win the SB more badly than ever.
