It's getting to be a drag to come this board. I'm all fired up about the game and it takes almost a minute just to get the forum to open, another minute to open a thread, another minute plus to get a reply page, and two minutes for the reply to post then a more waiting going back to main page to look at other posts. I appreciate the work Ian has been doing but the slowness is taking the fun out this site.

Other than the occasional lockups, the original server was at least faster than the snails pace I'm getting today and most of last week. yesterday the site was faster at times, I'll admit, but the incosistency seems needless given the ample number of quality servers now on the web.

It's still quite slow for me, which I'm bummed about since I was so looking forward to the new server..

I've been posting more at Patriots Planet simply for the quicker load time.

There are great groups of posters at both boards, but the long load times here are starting to gravitate me away. It's kind of depressing.

We're right back to click and wait and wait. There was athread about this yesterday but, it looks like it was removed.

So, what you are saying, and promoting over here, is to just walk out of here, walk out on Ian, who has devoted his life, time, money, and body to keep this as the BEST and FINEST internet fan site in the universe.

All for a few seconds. Gee, what loyalty. I certainly wouldnt want you in a foxhole next to me , in battle.

Coming from the man who has sent this board on the verge of civil war on more than one occasion? Give me a break, if you cared about this board as much as you claim, you would quit starting political threads on the football board.

Well, something happened because now the site is running faster but the inconsistency is beguiling! Maybe we've gone to the faster mode permenantly.

I'm in favor of purging the message database so it will run a lot faster. There is no sense keeping thousands of old posts that no one will ever read.

NEM he's got a valid point, it's frustrating to sit here and wait.....and wait....and wait. I don't blame him for being frustrated. This is really starting to get to me, and I had better get the answers I'm looking for shortly. This is getting real old, especially considering the fact we're on a dedicated server and this is still crawling. We're on the most expensive server they offered (with the biggest company online that as much as I'd like to I won't mention) with a Pentium 3 and 2G of RAM. This shouldn't be this way.

Thanks for your hard work, Ian.

I can't believe people would whine like this about a free service while you're working your butt off, but i guess it's the same "fans" that complain about players with 2 or 3 injured limbs while they reach for that next handful of chips.

That company doesn't begin with "V" does it?

I LIKE THAT IDEA

I'm fairly sure we'd be on opposite sides of the battlefield anyway, so I doubt you'd ever have to worry about it. ;)

Beyond that, how is it loyalty to wait for ten minutes to post twice? If Ian wanted money to upgrade the server I'd give it. If the site gets back to being useable I'll still be a regular as always.

But if this free site is running slow, I'll use a faster free site while it is.

That is absolutely nothing against Ian or anyone else here, and I think anyone but you would probably see it that way.

I think you're just mad because you're assclowned on that site. ;)

I hope you get the answers you're looking for Ian. I hope you don't take my useage of the Planet as disloyalty to this site (as it sounds like you don't).

Again, if you want to take up a collection, I'd quickly be in line to donate. Anything to help this place flow more smoothly.

It was working like a charm until last night. Now it is painfully slow.

I don't think BF80 was saying he is leaving here and dumping Ian because of the problems. I do know that last night I gave up a few times and posted over there.

Some of us do have that option and SOME OF US DON'T,well one of us doesn't anymore.. When this nightmare for Ian has passed we will all still be here and many of us will go over the other board too. There is nothing wrong with that. I don't see any competition between the two.

So those who don't have that option shouldn't take shots at those who do, in an attempt to shamefully suck up for no reason at all..

Ian, if it will help the cause, I would be willing to pay a membership fee. I don't know how much revenue that would generate if you charged a $25-$50 per year membership for something like a VIP forum.

I would be willing to show my "loyalty" in a tangible way rather than just lip service. I'm sure others would also.

Thanks, Nut.. Said it better than I could have come up with.

By the way, I see that you've achieved your first big contract. I was wondering, what did you get for a signing bonus? Should I hold out to show the team that I'm worth more than they're paying? I mean, I am a solid starter here!

:D

Ian, I don't know what you did, but in the past 15 minutes, the site has jumped to warp speed. If it stays this way you'll never hear another complaint from me or anyone else. It's loading just as fast as the Planet for now, actually faster.

Holy ****, I didn't even notice any of that.

Stay humble, like me, that's the best advise I can give.

I'm not requesting a penny until we get this place running the way it should. My feeling is that there's no point in donating to a product that isn't working correctly, so until I get it to where it needs to be I don't feel it's right to request any donations or accept any until that time comes.

Well whatever you just did seems to have worked! Unless this new speed I'm experiencing is temporary. It's blazing at the moment.
