I have seen a few Bears games this year and have been impresssed with rookie Mark Anderson.

There are times where it looks like the Pats cannot generate enough pressure without blitzing. A 3rd down rushing specialist with some ST potential would improve the Pats defense. Kind like TBC except with a more consistent ability to rush the passer. I don't even mean someone who could be a starting OLB, just someone who can get to the QB.

Some prospects for 2007 include,
Moses, Quentin Georgia 1 6-5 252 4.75
Woodley, LaMarr Michigan 1 6-1 270 4.68
Abiamiri, Victor Notre Dame 2 6-4 264 4.75
Spencer, Anthony Purdue 2 6-3 262 4.67
Bazuin, Dan Central Michigan 3-4 6-3 265 4.69

Juniors
Jackson, Lawrence Southern Cal 1 6-4 265 4.83
Ellis, Chris Virginia Tech 1 6-5 258 4.67
Moss, Jarvis Florida 1-2 6-6 252 4.63
Groves, Quentin Auburn 2 6-3 250 4.63

Spencer has good size, speed, production, a great motor, and plays in a big conference. He would be the leader in the club house for me. 1st rdr going into the combine.

Woodley plays with a mean streak but I question his speed and quickness a bit and, given his violent nature, wonder if 3-4 strong side ILB might be a better fit in the long run. To me he's a 2nd rdr.

Moses has the physical attributes but doesn't seem to play with alot of heart strength or intensity, almost like he was trying to avoid injury this year. He gets manhandled an embarrassing ammount, just pushed around, but shows a great 1st step occasionally. Maybe a real motivating psychologist of a coach can push his buttons at the pro level, like a Cowher type, but otherwise he has 1st rd bust written all over him. Just doesn't play mean enough for a dfeensive player.

Bazuin: You have to worry a little about the Jason Babin factor (1st rd bust from Western Michigan drafted as a DE/OLB in '04 by Houston). Doesn't have great speed, plays in second tier conference. Against top competition this year: vs. BC he had 1 Tackle for loss, vs. Michigan he had 1 sack, vs. Kentucky DNP.

I thought that was to be MY role?

Sincerely,
Marquise Hill

those guys are pass rushers in college .. in NFL most would be OLb in 3-4.

our pass rusher has been TBC..who came in more often since vikings game to rush the QB on obvious passing downs

If we are talking about the old Willie McGinest elephant role, as a DE/OLB, I've been watching Bistro of WSU. He's 6'5" plus and a good 245-255 lbs. He's playing with his hand on the ground right now, but I think he can run and cover a bit as well as get after the QB and he appears to be willing as a run blocker.
I've waffled on this guy all year, but he's starting to grow on me a little more each week.
