Ok I'm not saying we should take a RB and I don't know that we will, but if we were to take a RB, who do you like better between Mark Ingram and Mikel Leshoure? Or would you rather we take a different RB entirely....just curious as to what people are thinking.

Re: Which Running Back?

neither. Ingram would cost the #17 and Leshourse woulld probably cost the #28 or #33. I think the Pats have higher areas of need then RB. I would like to add a RB in the draft. Just not that high. Maybe Demarco Murray if he approaches the 60th or Daniel Thomas in the 3rd.

Re: Which Running Back?

I'm with Stevedogc. Why use a high pick on a rb when you can get a great DL or OL player. We have a good rb who does not get negative yards and does not fumble. Having said that, go for a mauler on the line and hand off more, extending Tom's career.

Re: Which Running Back?

Agree with the majority. Think we could definitely use a rookie RB, but I don't want the Pats using a first or second on one. I actually wouldn't mind them adding Jacquizz (sp?) Rodgers along with a more traditional RB.

Re: Which Running Back?

Mikel Leshoure or DeMarco Murray, if we're talking about the first or second round.

Re: Which Running Back?

Yeah I doubt BB will spend the 17 on Ingram, but I think Ingram is gonna be really good in a few years.....just have a feeling

Lagarette Blount was a UDFA last year.and led the league in alot of stats for RB last year. I think RB is one of the most unpredictable positions to draft in the game....BB will NOT be using pick in first or second round...I would actually HIGHLY doubt we keep both firsts...one will go for 1st in 2012.....

Re: Which Running Back?

We already have a downhill runner in green. He is 215 and not a tweener.what we need is a guy 200-210 lb who is fast and can bounce outside and create issues.

I really do not think another inside runner is required.

Thats completely ridiculous. Ingram set an Alabama record with 612 consecutive carries with only one fumble.

The way Leshoure flails the bail around when making lateral moves is cause for concern. DLineman/linebackers pursuing from behind and taught to go for the strip could spell trouble for him. Doesn't look like he has much of a top gear either. No way we burn a first or second on this guy. And Ingram has fumble problems?! What? I'm not saying we should draft him, but like already mentioned, he did set a school record for attempts without a fumble...

but he had dat 1 game doe!!!!1

Re: Which Running Back?

Ingram seems like a better fit for this team than Leshoure. He puts the team first, shows dignity when he talks, fights for every yard like its his last.
Leshoure might be a bit faster but looks like a boom/bust prospect. He goes down as soon as he's touched, and just bounces the ball to the outside because he's faster than everyone. Koppen isn't going to blow open holes you can fit a tractor through.
Not I don't want to draft either this high.

Re: Which Running Back?

Pierre Thomas. use the draft to shore up the front 7 and the OL.

I agree that RB although is in need of quality backup will not be addressed till at least the end of the third most likely the fourth round, along with a veteran free agent. I see the pats cleaning house at RB keeping BJGE and Woodhead Picking maby Bilal Powell in the 4th and a vet. Would like to see Ricky Williams due to much lower than average wear and tear. Even though he is 33 he has missed nearly 4 years to suspension, retirement and injury, greatly reduceing the amount of hits his body has taken in his career. He wants out of Miami, to go to a winning franchise. Maby a two year team friendly deal.

I always love it when people say "positively" what BB will do, they are almost always wrong.

The only 1 thing I can guaranty with complete certainty is BB will not draft a wide receiver with any of his first round picks. Beyond that I would not be surprised if he traded up, traded down, traded for free agents, or traded some for next year.

I do think this is a year of quality, rather than quantity, which leads me to lean towards the free agent/ trade up/ trade to next year possibilities, but who knows?

While I am happy with BJGE, I also would not be all that surprised if BB took a running back in the first round, of course I also would not be surprised if he didn't.

Well, if that were the case, then he would be a top 5 pick in this season's draft. Instead of making a comment like that, why don't you just say "Mikel reminds me a lot of Corey Dillon, he looks like he may be a great RB in the NFL."?
