He's gonna be a steal. He reminds me of Boldin.I would take him in the second round at 60.I dont know if he will be there though.

In all honesty, Hankerson would probably be the only WR I'd look at in the 2nd round. I've not been impressed with Titus Young. I could see Hankerson really becoming a favorite of Brady.

That being said, I have a bad feeling that a team like Cincy or St. Louis is gonna take him early in the 2nd round.

If for some reason BB shocks us and decides that none of these top tier DE's are for this team. I would hope that he will atleast consider this guy with 92.

Jarvis Jenkins, Defensive End/Tackle, Clemson. 6'4 315. He has got the size and strength that BB likes in his system. He can take on double teams and set the edge. He's been the unsung hero on Clemsons defense the last couple of years. I know that Bowers is a freak and Ricky Sapp was an excellent college player. Makes me wonder how much of an impact Jenkins was for the Clemson defense. Note, he is not a big sack guy, but either was Seymour and his impact was still felt.

Pair him next to Wilfork and you have just engaged a lot of space and created the neccessary holes for your other rushers to succeed with pressure.

Jenkins got some very good practice notes during Senior Bowl week which popped him onto my radar, so I see your point. Along those lines, a commenter on another board (probably Reiss') noted that Kade Weston is 6'5"/315 - as with Jenkins and Wilkerson, certainly within BB's presumed size-preference parameters for a 3-4 DE. Which got me wondering how he might do as a prospective RDE, assuming he comes of IR healthy (specific injury was never disclosed, AFAIK). Any thoughts/info about Weston?

Weston was placed on ir in August with an undisclosed abdomen injury? At any rate, I'd like to see some type of training camp notes on the guy to see how he was atleast progressing in training camp, drills etc.

I remember being suprised he fell to the 7th round. The measurables are close but like Tyrone McKenzie, I don't like waiting on guys that have proven nothing. The more competition the better in camp and if the job is to go to Weston, let him earn it and I'm fine with that.

Weston was actually waived/injured, which means that the Patriots gave the rest of the league a chance to take him off their hands before he hit IR. That's usually a bad sign. Still, he's a heck of a physical specimen, and there's always a chance he took his precarious career status as a wake-up call during the year off.

Well, I went searching for TC performance notes until I found that he'd been placed on Active/PUP at the start of camp - so, no notes.

Yeah, I agree about the value of more camp competition. Maybe bringing in another late-round guy like Carter. Good to know we've already got one big body in the fold, though.

I think someone posted on another board that they suspected he failed the training run and was so out of shape (ie: fat and slobby) that BB waived/injured him under the guise of an abdomen injury, when really the injury was just fat and out of shape in the middle section. No stamina.

At that point one of the coaches must have intervened on Weston's behalf. I think if this is correct, and Weston doesn't prove himself early, he could be a mini camp cut.

So, you're saying he's likely to show his greatest competitiveness at the training buffet? :p

Good to know. Thanks.

Actually, that's not true. He was "waived/injured" because of when they put him on the IR. Not because of him doing anything wrong. Just like the Pats claimed Josh Barrett off the same waiver process.

True. A NFL player with less than four credited seasons can't be put on IR before the 75-man roster cut-down date. He has to be waived/injured and clear waivers, before the team can put him on IR. The Patriots did that with Weston and they 'stole' Barrett from the Broncos then they tried to put him on IR.

Weston also fell behind in his progress in the Spring because he got hung up on some work visa issues.
