Watching Brady get the first ever unanimous MVP after a league-best 14-2 season, one in which we beat BOTH the teams that played in the Super Bowl. We deserve to be champions tonight, and I can't believe we just pissed it away by losing to such a piece of sh*t team AT HOME.

I thought I was over it, but tonight has me pissed again. I'm sorry.

Re: Isn't it all just so aggravating?

The team that won their games in the playoffs and scored the most point tonight deserve to be champions.

Re: Isn't it all just so aggravating?

It's definitely annoying. One thing I take some solace in is the last two years the SB has provided very satisfying endings with the Colts and Steelers losing. If the Pats aren't playing in it I suppose that's the next best thing.

I understand and share your frustration, but we don't deserve to be champions tonight. We had our chance and didn't perform. We don't "deserve" anything.

The Green Bay Packers deserve to be champions tonight. Congratulations to them.

It's funny, I started to think the same thing, but you know what I did? I put myself through those memories; memories of Vinateri silencing the Rams then crafting the dynasty two years later, of Brady putting his hands on his cap with confetti pouring down on him, memories of BB being dumped with Gatorade after the Eagles game was sealed, and of that Lombardi trophy going in the air not once, not twice, but THREE times.

Yea, I'm pretty happy. And I'm happy Rodgers gets to do it now.

Re: Isn't it all just so aggravating?

What frustrates me is that people think we "deserve" something because of the regular season or our team history. The only team that "deserves" anything is the team that wins, period. We had our chance and blew it.

The other thing that frustrates me is the "But their a young team" excuse. The GB Packers were the 2nd youngest team in the NFL this year and they won the SB. It's a lame excuse. When you're old and win, you're a veteran team, if you lose, you're old. I'f you're young and win, you're a fast, youthful, strong team; when you lose you're inexperienced and need time to grow. It's all nonsense.

Re: Isn't it all just so aggravating?

We don't deserve to be champions this year. We deserved to lose in the 2nd round.

It was a great year with a disappointing end for our team. Let it go

If the Patriots ever open their checkbooks and pay any coordinators more than 300K a year, they will win another Superbowl. Belichick can't do the jobs of 5 people at once, especially once a game starts. The only time since 2004 that we've paid any coordinator market money was 2007 and that was because we thought Dom Capers might have to replace a suspended Belichick.

Huh? Coordinator is just a title. Our coaching staff has been raided. Look at the Colts, for example, who have had continuity. We're not short 2 coaches, Belichick is not doing anything extra in that regard.

sig looks nice

Re: Isn't it all just so aggravating?

There are many many doormats teams that beat either one or sometimes (rarer) both SB teams throughout history. Remember the Dolphins that beat the 14-2 SB Pats. I didn't bother google to make a case, but I recalled similar arguments almost every year from fans of these teams to console themselves. Well, the Packs have 6 losses and the Lions can take solace in that they beat the SB champion.

The 2010 Pats weren't good enough in the post season. That's all there is to it.

The Colts do not have continuity. Tony Dungy did a great job in creating a potential dynasty, and Caldwell's pissing it all away.

we barely beat the Packers...with Flynn as the QB. I dont think we deserve anything. The team that should be pissed is Chicago. If they would have beat the Packers during the last week of the season, then Green Bay never makes the playoffs.

The 2010 Patriots were out coached in their only playoff game, which was a horrific way for us to lose if you think about how our team pride's itself on being prepared.

Have we learned a valuable lesson that left a very bad taste in the mouths of all players and coaches?

Yup you make PERFECT sense.

Capers was hired in 08, a year after "camera-gate", when the Pats had already been "punished" for that BS, and there was no chance BB wouldn't be the HC, barring illness. Oh yeah and the whole coordinators thing, I'm pretty sure the team had the same OC/DC in 07 as we did in 08. Stop getting all your ideas from Felger and DA and Co.

In a year where he had no "official" OC & DC and the youngest D in the league, the Patriots went 14-2 and had homefield advantage. Losing in the 2nd round has little to do with having coordinators with their proper titles or owners being "cheap", it has to do with execution on a given Sunday.

Again, if you want to regurgitate the easy-to-make but cheap thoughts of DA, Felger, Shaughnessy, et al, save it for the Herald comment section. This site is for intelligent Pats fans.

Re: Isn't it all just so aggravating?

Feels like the Patriots pissed away a great opportunity given there's no truly great sides in the NFL at the moment.

Where does this entitlement attitude come from????
Teams that cough up playoff fur balls at home with 2 weeks to prepare do not deserve to be champions.
Enough with this embarrrassing whining.

Re: Isn't it all just so aggravating?

Brady won the first ever unanimous MVP because they were the new england Brady's they were the best team in the regular season cause Brady was playing out of he's mind once the playoffs started and he was less then perfact the coaching was not good the defense was not good and the receivers were not good

this team was only going as far as Brady would take them they dont deserve anything

Re: Isn't it all just so aggravating?

Obviously not thrilled but this was about as satisfying a conclusion as I could have hoped for if the Pats weren't going to win. The one team that I really didn't look forward to having a rematch against won it all, and to top it all off it was Brett Favre's old team in the year that he was forcefully retired.
