BB: Patriots Have Received Offers for Patriots' Top Picks

One thing, there are very few slots open for this team. Historically, the 1's and 2's will make the team, the lower picks won't. In this case, BB has traded those 3's and 4's to either move up his 1's and 2's, to flip into higher rounds next year, or for existing nfl player trades.

Ummm . . . no one in the first four rounds has been cut before the start of their rookie season, and only one (Kareem Brown) was cut during their rookie season, and even that was an aberration.

Not quite sure where the confusion is, probably on my part. I wasn't saying we cut lots of third and fourth rounders in the past. Rather, I was saying that BB hasn't been at all shy about trading those 3rd and 4ths, and below for players, ala Randy Moss, etc, or for future draft picks, or even for using them to move up in the draft.

Just as in the 2007? draft when we traded for Wes and Randy, the team doesn't have very many holes to fill, with the relatively young successful team, as well as a number of quality injured players coming back, and even a few Navy guys showing up. Therefore, I find it much more likely for the Pats to go after a few very good players, ala 2007, rather than a multitude of players they hope will work out, ala 2010.

Here's a thought. We trade 17,28 and 33 and get 1's next year and a 2nd this year for each pick.

Now we have 4 Two's this year and Four #1's next year. Nothing BB does in the draft surprised me.

I hope we don't do this but ...Can you Image 4 ones. haha

In other news Abraham Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth and we landed on the moon!

There are a few people who still doubt the latter!

BB is like a stock trader on draft day. All I know is that he will be VERY ACTIVE.

BB gives us absolutely nothing with that quote, as per usual.

I have to disagree, he was playing the game perfectly. Let teams know/think/guess that there are other suitors out there looking for the same pick and you up the demand, whether perceived or real and cause them to overpay for the pick in a trade.
It's like the disinformation 'leaked' that the Pats may have interest in a player when in reality he is not on their list to cause that team to jump the Pats or grab him. See Vernon G. for a textbook case of this strategy.....

What I find interesting is that Belichick said anything at all... almost as though he was putting it out there early.

Is Belichick itching to move up?

When you look at players like Asomugha and Revis making an ungodly amount of money, would Patrick Petersen have any interest for you guys?

Move up to #4 for Peterson?

Give up say JJ Watt and Anthony Castonzo for Petersen?

Don't we essentialy have 3 firsts this year?

Needless to say, BB will trade down 500 times because he feels like he has to "outsmart" everyone yet again.

I would be shocked if he traded up.:rolleyes:They wanna get value picks but how about getting an impact player!!I would give the number 17 and 60 in the second round to get in the top 10.Try and get Robert Quinn.
