If we suddenly find out that Zoltan can kick the ball out of the endzone on kickoffs, then Graham might have a 2% chance of beating out Gostkowski. Ghost is much younger, has a longer range and has comparable accuracy.

That said, kudos to Shane for making it feel like our kicking game didn't skip a beat

Average opp. starting position with Gostowski = 22.25

Average opp. starting position with Graham = 30.61

I felt it.

Gost suffered a serious injury. Especially for a Kicker.

Maybe Graham does stay on board if Gostowski cannot return to old form?

Wouldn't be shocked to see Graham end up with the Jets.

I think Graham is actually more accurate on FGs than Gostkowski. The problem is that his kickoffs are a joke.

So the answer here is Gostkowski, assuming he can prove he's returned to pre-injury form.

One thing: remember that Gostkowski's contract wasn't just a four-year extension. It was the biggest non-Oakland contract EVER for a kicker.

Somehow, I'm guessing BB didn't just decide, "Hey, just for giggles, I'm going to offer Ghost $14M/4 years!"

Why not ask "Would your rather sleep with Brooklyn Decker or Betty White"?

Graham exceeded my expectations, but I can kick off better than him. Gostkowski when healthy is one of the best kickers in the league and may be the best kick off guys in the league.

What about neither one of them? How about a good hard look at Nebraska's Alex Henrey? The guy is an amazing kicker and can punt too.

Why on earth would we draft a kicker?

I somehow doubt you can kick off better than him.

"Gostkowski's four-year extension is worth roughly $14 million, with about $5 million guaranteed."

If he SOMEHOW improves his kickoffs, he will be better. He was more accurate. I remember earlier this season when Gostowkski missed like 3 FGs in a row. Graham missed none.

How many XPAs were missed?

Actually, that's doubtful. Graham's career FG percentage is ~86 percent (skewed by his 100 percent hit rate this season), while Gostkowski's is 84 percent. Gostkowski is also significantly younger.

Reminds me of the "Should the Pats trade Brady and keep Cassel" threads.

96-2 is about where I think this poll should be...

Not even a question. I considered Graham a liability. His kickoffs were suspect and while he performed adequately on FGs in the regular season...who would have been comfortable with Graham lining up for a 45 yarder to go to the Super Bowl?

Gostkowski is the best in the league. More of him.

is this another ******ed poll

How soon we forget Ghost's kickoffs. But, in fairness to Graham, neither has had to show that he can do what Adam did with a Championship on the line.
