i think the steelers o line will be a problem as it has been all year. plus their best offensive linemen Pouncey will be gone. BJ Raji is going to have a lot of fun lining up against their backup center lol.

I think Green Bay is flat out a better team. I don't think Pittsburgh is good enough to match up with them.

The Packers are the more complete team.

The Steelers stumbled into the Super Bowl with some imperfect games - though I wouldn't rule out the blind squirrel finding the nut and seeing Pittsburgh put their own perfect game together, so I'm going Packers even knowing that the rest of the season and the playoffs count for nothing at this stage.

I wouldn't lean to heavily on the Packers troubles against the Bears defense last Sunday. As divisional opponents, those two teams play each other so often that it makes the games closely contested defensive struggles the majority of the time.

Be that as it may, I think the Packers will win this one by 7-10 points. Something like 24-14 or 24-17. I can't see the Steelers offense minus their center lighting up the Packers solid defense next Sunday.

Go Pack Go!!! :singing:

No Pouncey=Stillers dead.

No Pouncey=Stillers dead.

I don't see that. Other than the botched snap on the safety, I thought Legursky did well enough. The Steelers offense was excellent in the first half. Mendenhall was running wild. I don't buy that the bog down in the second half was on Legursky.

I'm amazed that the vote here is so one-sided in favor of the Packers. I view this game as a total coin flip.

I voted the Packers, more because I want them to win than I think they will win. I do think they CAN win, however, if they play the Steelers like we did (and they can). Spread the ball around and keep it in the air rather than on the ground. Stop Steelers running game and hopefully Big Ben will show a lot of his characteristic inaccuracy.

Go Pack!!

steelers have the overall better defense

packers were one of the worst teams in the league at yards per carry allowed despite not allowing alot of rushing tds

but the ypc thing i think will come back to bite them and allow for long drives like the way pitt smothered the jets in the first half last week

also if rodgers is going to struggle as bad as he did vs the bears, that's not a good sign for when he faces troy and the boys

I suspect that a lot of people here voted that way.

Sigh.

I was hoping to see more what people actually thought would happen.

Well, I did say what I thought CAN happen!! I really don't know, but if the Packers wipe the field with the Steelers, that will make my day!!

I think the Steelers will take this, but I hope the packers win it. I have a feeling the Steelers will hit Aaron pretty hard and bring back concussion nightmares for him and try to make it a low scoring game. I hope I'm wrong.

that would be a first, i've never seen a steelers superbowl where they didn't have a great shot at winning it

if not for a huge chokejob by neil odonnel that franchise would be 7-0 in superbowls which is crazy!

looking at the steelers superbowl wins actually, no blowouts really, mostly pretty close (avg margin of victory = 7.5 points)

Not picking on you. I just think that the vote here says that a lot of people voted with their heart instead of their head. Not saying that picking the Packers is dumb. It's not. I just can't imagine this much of a disparity unless people were going with their wants.

Packers are better. Packers are strong on D up the gut with Raji and Bishop and Matthews is a premier pass rusher; That banged up Steelers OL is overmatched. The corners can lock the WRs down, even when the Steelers go playground-mode with Ben buying time as the WRs break off their routes. Since the Packers have found some semblance of a running game, they will force the Steelers to play them honest and Rodgers has enough weapons to keep Pittsburgh guessing.

Still frustrated the Steelers are going to their 3rd SB this past decade without having to go through New England. Reminds me of how the Pats made SB31 without having to go through Denver (thanks again, Jacksonville).

Regards,
Chris
