Fox Mock Draft

It would be a great haul for us BUT.. BB will trade at least one pick back. This is the year to grab some solid players we need NOW and not trade back.

Very close to my 2 round wish list:
Jordan and Watts. Bookend these two around Wilfork and Wright on 3rd down and flood the secondary with DBs....refer to Giants '07 and Jets '10. Problem solved

Wisniewski C/G and Watkins G/OT. I expect Light to return, Mankins to get franchised and traded, Neal to return ....possible preseason cut. Wisnieski as C of future, G depth. Watkins as rotational G with Connelly, midseason starter

I think I died and went to heaven with this mock
1a Cameron
1b Catonzo
2a Watt
Post Senior Bowl mock NFL draft - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN

Man, I would love for the draft to work out like that. I've seen many mocks with the Pats taking Watt with their first pick. It would be great if he was still there at 33. I don't like Costanza much, and he got destroyed this week in the senior bowl. I much rather have Carimi or Wisnieski instead as has been mentioned.

Watt falling to the 2nd round? That would be a steal for the Pats!
Castonzo did not impress at the Senior bowl so I'd probably look at a different OT prospect.

So DE, OT, DE, OG/C, OLB, C/OG could work. That would be a line heavy draft, but it looks like we could use some help in the trenches. We could look at a Burney as a slot corner in the 3rd-4th round and be pretty much set.

I agree that watt falling to the second round is pretty unlikely, but hey, crazier **** has happened. On a side note, I found it interesting that they had Fairley falling to number 4.....I thought he was pretty much consensus number 1?

Fairley is but that particularly ESPN writer/analyst is going against the grain a bit with his mock.

If we could land Jordan,Watts with Wisniewski and Watkins? I would consider that a dream draft for me personally. Add a SS and CB with later picks and you are looking at another fine draft class.

So does Jordan play OLB and Watt DE? Or are both DE's?

Just be careful you don't draft Jordan Cameron.

Stay consistent, use only all first names, or all last names.

There is a Jordan Cameron in this draft.

Then there's Cameron Heyward. But the only other Heyward is Heyward Jafoukov, a long-snapper from Rhode Island with an attitude problem.

I have to agree about staying away from Castonzo. He looks like he's going to have to move inside.

For those of you who watched Cam Jordan play for Cal, did he line up on the left side or the right side of the D-line. I noticed he was lined up on the left side of the D-line during the Senior Bowl.

I don't think we need to take a Tackle with our first three picks. I think Light should be resigned to a new deal, and one of our first three picks should be selected on an interior linemen, not an outside lineman. Either way, I like the Watt and Jordan picks. I doubt Watt stays until #33 however. Plus, I think BB is the one that said #33 is a very valuable pick because of the reformatting of the draft. He might look to trade out of it.

Saw him twice vs LTs. Unsure if Cal moved him around during his career. He seems versatile enough to do so though.

I don't know. Personally I feel that both are two guys that can get to the passer so it increases this teams chances of actually drafting a pass rusher. I would venture to guess Watt is a little more athletic and a lot more raw than Jordan. I would probably keep Jordan as DE and slowly bring Watt around as a OLB. Using him in packages in year 1 while letting Cunningham and Niko continue their progression.

I think in this teams case it wouldn't hurt to draft similiar players, especially at the value that was suggested by the posters mock.

Is he good enough to be a top OG?

i dont see a need for a OT the pats need G's and if the pats are going to draft a OLB in the first round then why not trade up 6 more spots to get Robert Quinn, who is a real impact player

Not if high-enough value/good-enough fit players slip.

He has 4 QBs going high, which helps push some players down.

He also didn't really give Watt to the Pats so much as say Watt would be the best guy available at 33. But I think the Pats would take him in a moment if he were there.

One problem with mocks like this is no trades. If those players were falling to the Pats, somebody would trade up to snipe them. So the Pats would have to trade up a bit to actually get them. E.g., if Minny really wanted the 4th QB on the board, it would trade down ...

No matter. For those three players, I'd be delighted to spend the other picks trading up.
