Cool McCourty vid

That's my vid :D

I know, it's not that great but I tried

Two quick points:

(1) Given the lyrics, shouldn't it end with the "flying"? :)

(2) Not a question about what you did, but, looking back it, WTF was Manning throwing to?

Must have been one of those communication errors, as it is with all Manning picks

1) I was thinking that but I'm lazy

2) Idk, I'm just happy McCourty got the INT

He times his jumps so well to get the balls at their high points

Anyone notice towards the end of the vid when he picks of Sanchez the little flying things he does... Wonder if that's where the Jets got that gay idea from, or where they doing it before that game, and he was mocking them?

Mocking them. Sanders did the same thing in that game when he picked off Sanchez.

There is a reason that almost no passes came to McCourty's side of the field late in the season. And I don't expect that he will see many passes next season unless he Patriots get Champ Bailey or Asomugha; you would have to be crazy to throw against him.

Anyway notice McCourty's hands; I have never seen anyone with such lightening quick hands. They dart in to dislodge the ball. There were some other plays this season when he broke up plays with his hands.

Not only the hands but also watch his speed when turns on the jets; no one is going to catch him in a footrace except possibly a Mike Wallace type. The guy just bristles with athleticism; he is the most athletic guy on the team.

Another thing about the video is how well he adjusts when the ball is in the air; I hope Butler can learn something from this.

Wasn't he known for having stone hands in college? Must of really worked on it. Going to be a great player for years to come.

None of the scouting reports I saw mentioned that specifically, but he didn't have a lot of interceptions (6 career, no more than 2 per season, and 1 his senior year).

I'm sure a lot of that was about QBs not throwing to his side very often, but some might have interpreted it as he couldn't catch the ball.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have found the next Ty Law.

A lot of people compare McCourty to Ty Law but I think in a few years people will see McCourty as McCourty and not as another Ty Law.

True. But the role Law played in the defense (especially in 03) was nothing short of exemplary. . . I think McCourty can be like Ty Law in that sense.

Devin McCourty making plays to Wiz, what's not to like?

Manning incorrectly read 2-deep, the receiver correctly read 4-deep. The receiver ran the right route (and was open), but Manning threw to where he would have been had the run the wrong route.

I respectfully differ a bit on this point; McCourty and Ty Law are very different.

McCourty is a gazelle; Law was a mauler. McCourty has better coverage skills and downfield speed. Law was better at bump & run and mauling the WR on their routes and run support.

Also note that McCourty's skills evolved rapidly this season (unlike Butler's skills which have stagnated.).
