Favorite place to sit for football games?

Where do you most like to sit?

For me, regardless of price, it's upstairs, in the second or third row (first row has railing issues), between the 40s.

From that perspective, I see everything, and I don't have the need to see the game up close so I can hear the players, etc. Also, I like the crowd upstairs a lot more than the crowd downstairs.

That said, if money is really not an issue, I'd have to give some consideration to sitting in the same spot -- low row, between the 40s, in the Fidelity Club or a like section of another park -- particularly when it's very cold outside.

In the end, I would probably opt for upstairs for the reasons I mentioned.

How about you?

By the way, assume that you can get to the game and sit basically where you want.

I always try to sit in the end zone seats, what ever stadium i go to. I like looking at the splits, the RBs picking holes, and I get to see passing plays develop from the QBs perspective.

It's like an entirely different sport from that vantage.

If you could move to the 50, you wouldn't do it? Is that where you would sit if you could choose any locale for games not in Foxboro?

I totally get that when the ball is coming at you. But what about when it's going the other way. I never liked the fact that I couldn't often tell whether the play gained 3 or 7 yards or tell if the player made it into the opposite end zone.

But yeah, when the ball is coming at you, the end zone is awesome. Particularly a little higher up.

Yeah, end zone perspectives are cool, for all the reasons you mention. Gives the best "on field" experience. What sucks is when the play is on the other end, going away from you. But, bring some binos and drink it in!

But you're right, absolutely no clue when about yardage gained. And then when the play is on the 25 yard line on the opposite end of the field, I just start watching Diamondvision or whatever.

I am a little partial to my seats at Gillette.

Lower Bowl on the twenty and towards the back of the section. (wasnt an option in the drop down and I know people love the 50 but I have logic for loving the 20's better look at one endzone)

Keys:

Back of the section is key so the sight lines are good to the far sides of the field.

I know between the 40's is ideal so you see both sides well and most action is in the middle of the field but I actually like being on the 20 because it offers us a really good look at one of the endzones and the other is still not to bad.



PS: when I do road trips I actually like sitting in the end zones. Cheaper seats and it offers me a different look at the game as another poster noted it is fun to see the splits and vision that is needed. Also cool when they are coming right at you. I was front row endzone when we played the Cowboys in 07 and it was extremely cool. At one point we had the Boys pinned close to the goal line right in front of us. I went nuts (usually I stay quite on opposing turf) we were so close I felt the Boys could hear me in the huddle and think what a nut one vs 80,000. The play they ran was that run play to Marion Barber where he went left and cut back right and should have been tackled by like 4 patriots in the endzone and wound up with a 2 yard gain. Probably one of the most impressive 2 yard gains you will ever see. From the right angle you can see me in the backround with my hands over my head doing the safety signal as he runs past.


PPS: really at home with the HD is in the lead. What a bunch of softies. Not gonna sugar coat this one but if you really think watching on HD is better than in person than IMO you are a dumb fan, thats right I am insulting you big whoop wanna fight about it. At home on HD you have no control over what you watch just follow the ball and IMO any knowledgible fan wants to see so much more than that.

I will say as prices go up, HD and NFL Red Zone are looking pretty good. I know what the previous poster said, and I agree, but ooof... Just my son and I, and it's a $300 day. $117 x 2, plus parking. Never mind tailgate and dinner on the way home.

- No long walk up to the Stadium

- Seeing aspects of the game that you just don't get in person with the various angles etc

Now, to be clear, I prefer being there in person. But let's be fair...the other perspective isn't crazy.

For me for any arena that features end to end play (Hockey, basketball, Football) I like to sit as close to the middle (center ice, half court, 50 yard line) as possible in the mid level so not way up in the bleachers so I'm watching ants play different colored ants but not so close my neck hurts like Hell by the end of the game.

I voted somewhere else, because I sit in Section 236 at the stadium for games, which is in the mid level, one section (and one of those big gaping holes that you see on TV) over from the club seats. My seats actually line up with the goal line, but they are angled toward the middle of the field, so you don't feel like they are sideline/endzone seats.

I have never had the opportunity to sit in the (red) club seats, but I bet the views from there are awesome! Too bad so many occupy them who are not rabid fans like me who would never remain inside and miss plays (although I thought that issue was better this year on the whole)! I sat in the lower bowl for that horrible game 2 weeks ago and I didn't like it as much as my own seats because there was a tall guy in front of me and I couldn't see over him, which isn't a problem higher up in the stadium.

My feeling is (having gone to some games in other stadiums, some domes, some outdoors) that as long as weather is not a factor and you are between the 20s, being higher up is better. You can see the whole field.

Now, to be clear, I prefer being there in person. But let's be fair...the other perspective isn't crazy.

You missed a few.

- No long line to the bathroom.

- Air conditioning when it is hot, heating when it is cold, and a roof when it rains.

- Better food.

- Less expensive beer.

- zero risk of getting arrested for DUI getting home after the game.

- more comfortable seats

- able to post on patsfans.com during the game.

HDTV is great -- but not better. It's the perfect supplement for the 2nd viewing.

Luxury boxes generally suck, imo -- fewer real fans, you lose the atmosphere of the game and the food isn't particularly good.

People around you are critical, all else even. For SB 39 we somehow wound up with very good seats -- around the 30, lower section but high enough to see the whole field. Only drawback were the jackasses behind us who kept telling us to sit down. Not that we listened to them, but they were still pests who added nothing to the game.
