OT: Jeff Fisher and Titans to part ways.

A step in the right direction imo. Clean house new coach & a new qb. Fisher is a decent coach but the titans have gone nowhere since super bowl 34. That 13-3 team in 08 was pretty good though but went one & done.

I understand your thought, but I tend to disagree. While cleaning house can be good just for a fresh start, I believe this example sends the wrong message. This has become a Jeff Fisher vs. Vince Young story, and it's unfortunate that the player won out.

I did wonder if VY would now stay, but I do think he will go aswell!

Pats interested in a new DC perhaps?

But they already said they're going to cut or trade Young, unless this changes their mind.

Yeah but that was on the basis of Fisher refusing to work with him so Bud Adams basically had to choose between Fisher and Young, and initially chose Fisher. Now he's getting rid of Fisher might suggest he's open to letting Young stay

So what you're saying is there's going to be an opening on the rules committee, eh? Hmmm ...

I know BB has been complimentary of Fisher during newsconferences and whatnot....HOWEVER....I've heard that in reality, BB has no use for him or guys like him....i.e....those on the competition committee. In fact, has a true distain for him. Just go back to the McDaniels/Fisher war of words from earlier in the year about the cheap shots. Josh didn't come up with that on his own!

No one in the NFL works the media better than Fisher. The outrage they will show over the next few days towards Bud Adams will be fierce. The truth of course is Fisher has only been to the playoffs 6 times in 16 years and has just 2 winning records and no playoff wins in the last 7 seasons. That resume would get every NFL coach fired but he gives great quotes and at the end of the day the Peter King's of the world care about that above all else.

I bet John Fox is thanking his lucky stars that this didn't happen earlier.

I expect he will find a team quickly after the next round of firings. He creates a credible defense, and in the era of the Pats, Colts (played twice every year) and Steelers has still managed double digit wins four times. There is something to be said in that.

This. But Fisher will probably have a job by tomorrow.

If Fisher was smart, he'd take the year off.

I'm surprised because once they said Vince Young would not be returning, I thought Fisher's job was safe. Maybe ownership simply didn't like the way either one of them handled things this year - or the productivity of either one of them recently.

I seem to recall that Fisher and Bud Adams have clashed repeatedly over the years. An owner may look past that if the team is winning, but is unlikely to do so when the team is losing. Apparently the season ending 'state of the team' evaluation meeting between the two must have not gone very well because I don't recall any rumblings that Fisher was going to be canned; three weeks ago the consensus was that Fisher was staying.

screw him. I hope he never get a job after this

100% agree with this post. What has this guy really done, NOTHING! His rep. is way better than his record. I hear on epsn and NFLN, "This guy will have a job the next day" I asked why? Give me Gruden who has a ring over this guy.
