Most top backfield prospects seen lacking - BostonHerald.com

There are also trade possibilities. Dealing a second- or third-round pick for Cowboys running back Felix Jones is a scenario that has been floated among NFL circles this week.

I would give up the Vikings 3rd round pick for Felix Jones.
The Cowboys have a terrible offensive line. I would love to see Felix
Jones run behind the Pats OL with Gronk and Crumpler blocking.

He's a bigger Woodhead, last year around this time I'd say go for it but honestly were more in need of an everydown back than a burner.

Disagree, Woodhead is quick but not really a gamebreaker. BJGE takes care of the heavier work and Jones would be a great addition as a gamebreaking threat. I'd give the Vikes 3rd but doubt Dalls would take anything less than a 2nd and may push hard for the #33 overall if the Patriots seriously inquire. Given that Ryan Williams will likely go top 50 the Patriots 2nd may not even be that much to part with.

I doubt Dallas will move Felix..doesn't Jones love this guy?..Barber or Choice will be gone.

You do know that has run as low as a 4.38 whereas Jones was timed at 4.47 right? Jones makes a killing off of screens and long stretch plays/tosses. He really doesn't bring much more to the table than woodhead other than size. Woodhead is just as much of a gamebreaker as Jones is.

For a guy who is not a game breaker, Woodhead sure did have a high yards per run average and a lot of long gainers this season.

I would not give up a second or third round pick with Law Firm and Woodhead in the mix, and with Faulk possibly coming back.

I'd instead focus my high picks on both lines and a pass rushing LB. That's where the Pats have real needs, in my book. And another WR.

Not sure why another WR.......Tate was basically a rookie this year and Price is an unknown that BB kept on the final 53......

If a WR is taken, I hope it's 4th round or later.....,

I don't buy Tate and would like to add one burner/home run threat to the mix.

I like Jones, but you can get a decent back with a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Jones is too fragil to count on week in and week out (even in a reduced role) Plus you would only get him for 2 years @ about a mill per year, compared to paying less and keeping a player longer if you use the pick.

You want to give up a 3rd for Jones when I need: D-lineman (pass rusher would be nice), OLB and OL first and FOREMOST. Ah.....pass.

I would rather Choice or Barber before I would want Jones

There are only so many carries in a game. With faulk resigned woodhead and benny`s carries will come down a bit .

So having these 3 its a great time to draft not 1 but 2 RB in the later rounds where we seem to have alot of picks. We draft late OL and DL prospects so instead draft them high and take 2 Rb and 2 WR in 6th or 7th .

Doesn't excite me.

Need to focus on getting Grade A impact players on the front 7.

With the running game, fortify RG and develop a we will run on you attitude.

That'll do.

Jerry Jones giving up on Felix Jones.. hahahaha.. I love the offseason.

Keep the picks; sign Ronnie Brown or Pierre Thomas.

We really need a sticky reminding fans and speculating mediots that there can be no trades this season until a new CBA is in place. Just like there will be no such thing as a FA until one is in place... The only FA who can be signed are your own and only prior to March 4. After that everyone is in limbo via lockout unless the union decertifies or owners declare an impass and get to impose their own rules. The only trades that can still be made are of draft picks for draft picks.
