OT:Mark Sanchez, Braylon Edwards Party All Night After Playoff Loss

After six months of taking a beating while trying to live up to crushing expectations, all culminating grueling playoff loss, I'd probably drink myself into a stupor too. Not sure what's so bad about this. I got stupefyingly drunk on Saturday night, and I didn't even have (or need) a reason.

you realize a NFL player is basically on lockdown a months before, and during an entire NFL season right?

Was Braylon Edwards in "lockdown" when he got his latest DUI? Was the Green Beans defense in "lockdown" when it ate cheeseburgers on the practice field? Was Jabba Wrecks in "lockdown" while pimping his wife out to strangers on a swingers website? Was the team in "lockdown" while harassing Inez Sainz? Were Bart Scott, LaClassian Tomlinschmuck, Jenkins, Cromartie, etc., etc. in "lockdown" while running their mouths incessantly? Oh, the irony ...

I find it worse that they partied all night after beating the Patriots. If I were a fan I'd be mad as hell that they were out drinking a week before that Steelers game. I don't really care if they party after they lose. How they deal with that loss, well, whatever. It is the drinking before the Steelers game that is totally unprofessional.

They're adults. They had a tough day at the office (and then some). They had a few drinks, maybe tried to pick up a woman. They didn't behave like Roethlisberger towards the women and they did take a limo home after the drinking. What's wrong with that?

You mean that going out and partying for one night after a big success, an entire week before your next game, is somehow wrong?

Come on man! You don't really believe that, do you?

I'm not suggesting that we go back to the days of Max McGee (scored the first TD in Super Bowl history as drunk as a skunk in SB I, adding another TD and six more catches off of Bart Starr passes that day for a total of 160 yards...he was so wasted that he didn't even bring his helmet to the sidelines and had to borrow one before he stumbled onto the field when Boyd Dowler separated his shoulder early in the first quarter) or Joe Namath (spent the night before his historic performance in SB III drinking and, well, whatever, with some of Miami's finest, ahem, ladies of the evening, arriving back at his room at dawn), but what's the problem with celebrating a victory seven days before your next game?

Thank you. They have the whole off season and pre-season to address what happened in the loss, going out and getting hammered to help yourself get over it is natural behavior. It's not even like they popped up on The Dirty | Nik Richie + Dirty Army intel, opinions, gossip, satire, and celebrities, they went out with friends and had some drinks. It's not even a sure thing they "partied".

Well they may not be AFC Champs but I'm sure they were in the club fist pumping like champs.

There is a difference between going out for food and drinks and going to a club with loud entertainment at 2 a.m. and staying 'til daybreak. I couldn't care less what the Green Beans do but the latter certainly would fall into the realm of "partying."

During the Playoffs? You bet I believe this. These guys are athletes. They need every advantage to win. Drinking affects your performance in practice and in games. It also shows a lack of serious mindset. Apparently beating the Patriots really was their Superbowl. If it wasn't, they might have been more focused on the Steelers. This is like finding your kids partying all night long right in the middle of finals! Yeah, I would have been mad if I were a Jets fan.

I wonder how many Patriots got hammered after they lost to the Jets? Probably a few, at least.

good point. no he wasnt. Edwards was being an absolute clown.

But I think you get the overall message I was trying to say.

As long as they didn't go out for a joyride afterward, I don't see a problem here. Their season is over and they have a while before next season starts. On top of that, they're young. Why not go out and have a couple of drinks? What should they have done? Gone out and practiced their route running and timing throws?

How about at least attempting to show some disappointment for a huge loss? Going out and spending $2500 the VERY SAME NIGHT? When most of the fans were probably heartbroken and chugging pepto bismol in order to be able to make it to work the next day? What kind of message does that give to the fans? Oh yeah, my job's done. AFCCG-ShmaFCCG, I'ma get a lap dance now. If Brady or any Patriot had done this, the entire Patriot Nation AND the media would have crucified them.

I'd party after going 0-16. I mean really, how sad can you be after getting paid the amount they get paid?

Man, the Puritan streak runs long and deep in Boston fans!

What in the world is wrong with a couple of young guys dealing with their feelings in their own way, which is all I think this is? Neither of them "Roethlisbergered" a woman (and there weren't even any lapdances). They both got into limos afterwards and didn't get behind the wheel of a car.

What business is it of us, as Patriots fans, how Tommy or any of his teammates decides to deal with a loss? A few drinks at a late night club? A couple of laughs to distract from the pain, physical and emotional? It actually kind of creeps me out that we would resent this.

Yeah. And as long as they didn't break any laws or impose themselves on people who didn't want their attention, what business is it of ours?

No report of that happening. Not even in the inside track which is very gossipy.

So ******* what? I would do the same thing... Works done for the year...time to party and hook up with some hot tail...

Exactly what I'd be doing if I were lucky enough to be a professional football player... ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!??
