Considering when this happened, I think this might have led to the rumored incident between him and Bart Scott.

Antonio Cromartie Lashes Out at DeMaurice Smith, NFL Owners -- NFL FanHouse

Antonio Cromartie said:
"You got our head union rep acting like an a-hole," Cromartie told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. "They got their guys acting like a-holes. So they just need to get their s**t together and just get it done."

I seem to remember that Bart Scott is a big Maurice Smith supporter..

Does he have any insults other than "***hole" in the arsenal? Or is that just his go to strategy

Nah, just par for the course when dealing with someone with very limited intelligence, hence limited vocabulary.

He's one guy whose nest egg probably could NOT endure a work stoppage ...

Re: Semi OT: Cromartie runs mouth again.. in a good way??

There's no question that a work stoppage/lock-out/strike whatever when the sport is probably more popular than all other sports in the country combined is completely absurd, but it does sound like it might happen.

Since I tend to go AWOL (asleep with open lids) everytime it comes up (makes me sick they can't just figure it out) can anyone tell me the biggest issue, apart from the 18-game schedule? Or is that it? If it is, the owners should really go and die.

Sounds to me like maybe he has some breakthrough ideas to help the two sides come to a mutually agreeable settlement in this very complicated process. ...

Got to feed his family, whatever the individual names of those family members might be.

Not the intelligent voice I want to hear weighing in on the subject, but at least it's a voice.

I would imagine the Cro-ster is sweating it, knowing he will feel the wrath of all those "baby mommas" in various zip codes, is quite motive enough !!!! :D

I think his concerns, no matter how expressed, are typical of most players. What they would like is for this to be settled asap. If that means a pay cut or more games, so be it, and they're hoping the union can minimize the concessions they have to make.

But having a year where there may not be a job or a paycheck just can't happen for most of these guys, the non-superstars. If all it meant was a temporary loss of pay and then all is restored as if it never happened, that would be one thing.

But the reality is that any given guy can lose his job to another player, which already happens all the time. It's a very insecure profession. Time off is not what these guys want. With time off comes the risk that some other guy is going to take their spot somehow, or that they're missing their opportunity to impress their coaches and GM's so they can move uptown.

I hate this man, but he's right. They DO need to get their **** together.

This is really frustrating as a fan; I don't WANT 18 games. Sometimes I think of just getting rid of all the owners (except for the Krafts of course)

Whenever I hear pro athletes talk about feeding their family, it makes me angry because they make more than enough to feed their families even on the bare minimum.

Except Cro. He's seriously got a lot of mouths to feed.

Re: Semi OT: Cromartie runs mouth again.. in a good way??

$$$$$$$

Not just the biggest the only one.

Of course money underlies everything, but it's not really that simple though. I don't think the players' trepidation about extending the season is necessarily about money, per se.

So I was wondering if anyone could provide the Reader's Digest version of the actual issues in play.

Re: Semi OT: Cromartie runs mouth again.. in a good way??

i thought this was hilarious. He says this about everyone but he doens't know what else to say.

and he's right which is the best part. Of course he doesn't know that...... (which makes it even greater)
