By the same token, I'd never insist that Floyd has made NO contribution to the draft effort. The reality, I think, is probably closer to it being something of a committee effort with a lot of different people doing at least some prospect evaluation here and there, a few doing collating and coordinating and several making recommendations. BB probably has the final authority, but that doesn't mean he exercises it as an authoritarian.
My feeling is that Floyd may offer some good information/insight about what other teams may be competing directly with the Pats for certain prospects. That kind of thing might help BB feel comfortable, for instance, making two trades down - but not a third - before taking McCourty.
