So what do you guys think about trying to bring him in? I'm on the fence about it because of his attitude but the guy has talent and he's clutch. Let's look at the pros and cons.

Pros
  1. Great hands.
  2. Fast, can stretch the field for Welker.
  3. Clutch.
  4. Would keep him from the jets and the rest of the league.
  5. He's only 26.
Cons
  1. Expensive?
  2. He's kind of a d-bag.

Too ****y...too talkative for this group.

Will probably be getting some looks in Cleveland and Tampa Bay to boot.

He's not your typical patriot, just thought I'd see you what you guys think. I would not want edwards though. He drops too many passes and he gets into trouble all the time. I think Holmes' only violation was the pot possession if I recall correctly.

Yea probably, but but if he kept his mouth shut( highly unlikely) he'd be a really good play maker for this offense.

The Pats are the type of team that usually goes with the aged players at WR

Derrick Mason is a possibility,I expect the Ravens to part ways with him.

Please tell me you are kidding.

Did anyone see his incredibly stupid play to open the Colts game, when he let a rolling punt come within two millimeters of touching him?

This guys is about as anti-Patriots as you can get, and to boot he would want a big salary and wouldn't add that much to their offense.

Belichick will make it to the Hall of Fame by avoiding players like this, and sometimes it's a gray area. This one is not gray. This guy is a turd.

Missed the start of the colts game, but that's pretty bad. If pats could somehow contain him though. There's no doubt he could do great things for this offense. It's a huge long shot they get him though.

Holmes really doesn't seem like that bad of a guy, compare him to Edwards and Holmes is a saint. He's a playmaker and comes through in the clutch. I don't think BB would go for it but I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Pats jersey.

Holmes is also one positive weed test from a long-term suspension. I love the guy's talent, and if Belichick signed off on him (hard to believe he would), I'd be okay with the move, but I don't see it happening.

Why do you think they will get rid of him? I would love to have him here though.

I am tired of this crap about being anti-patriot etc.The guy can play.I would welcome a guy like him. This team needs fiery guys

That was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen a professional football player do during a game. There's no way I'd want this guy on our team.

The Ravens already have some talent there and are building for a SB..I question if Mason is in their plans.

you guys took randy moss via trade, that pretty much says you'll take almost any wr

Why the love for Mason?

He isn't good enough to beat out anyone on our offense. He's another 5'10" guy who averages as many ypc as Deion Branch, so he isn't exactly a deep threat. He's also 36 years old.

This seems pretty stupid to even talk about. The Pats have already whiffed on Torry Holt and Joey Galloway, but that was when they actually had a need for that type of receiver.

Honestly, how can you justify that an aging, redundant guy like Mason would be worthy of a roster spot, let alone a decent contract?

I wouldn't say Holmes is on his way to the HOF like a certain "problem" WR the Patriots traded a 4th for...

Yeah, because a once-in-a-lifetime talent like Moss is really the equivalent of a guy like Holmes, who has had one 1,000 yard season in his five-year career and 26 TDs in his career (Moss had 23 in 2007.)

You must be a Jets fan because you don't see the distinction between a Hall of Fame wide receiver and a guy who will probably never make the pro bowl.

Didn't you know, he's signed a 2 year deal to a state prison.

For all the headaches relating to Moss, you can't deny he was one of the smartest wide receivers in the game when it came to on-the-field stuff. Holmes, not so much.

Any jets or steelers fans with some input about this guy? I've just seen him in a few jets game this year and in the steelers-cardinals super bowl.
