No Wilfork? Boo, hiss.

No Brandon Lloyd? Wayne put up stats this season but I'm not sure I'd take him over Jennings or Wallace, either.

Also thought Carl Nicks had a better season than Jahri Evans. Other than that, not much to complain about.

Interesting that Brady's unanimous selection means there is no second-team QB. That is messed up.

McCourty, Vollmer and Wilfork were named 2nd Team All-Pros.. Nice to see.

I guess there's no way we're resigning Mankins now?

Wilfork, Lloyd and Nicks made 2nd Team All-Pro. :D

This link makes it clear.

I was wondering how 2nd team QB was vacant. I guess this means the AP finally thinks Brady is in a league of his own.

Congrats to all of them.

The really bizarre thing is a slam dunk HOF lock QB who has gone to 4 superbowls and won 3 and twice been SB MVP and probably should have been all 3 times has only been named to the all pro team twice in a decade - once unanimously and once coming up a half vote short...in seasons when he didn't win or didn't get to the Superbowl. Manning on the other hand has been to two superbowls and won one including an MVP that should have been shared by his running backs has been a 5 time all pro and most of those unanimously...

I doubt it. He's probably wanting around or more than what Jahri Evans got :(. There's always the franchise tag to piss him off some more lol.

Always interesting when something jumps out about the difference between Pro Bowl and All-Pro voting. E.g., Light to the Pro Bowl but Vollmer on the All-Pro team.

DMac is first team with SN and 2nd team with Associated Press. Good for the boy, franchise cornerback.

The voters are all only given one vote. So if it's unanimous there is no 2nd teamer.

The other organizations don't even list a second team. Since the voters only have one vote per position they probably shouldn't even list a second team. You could have a situation where 49 out of 50 voters all agree that Player A is the best at his position and Player B is the second best at that position. But the 50th voter thinks Player C is the best and Player A the second best; in that scenario Player C rather than Player B gets named to the second team - even though 49 out of 50 think Player B is better than Player C.

It might be a case like that with Vollmer. I really like Vollmer a lot but I'm not so sure that those voters think he is the 4th best tackle in the NFL.

Mayo, eh, I'm surprised. Timmons/Urlacher deserved it over him, IMO.

He beat out Urlacher by one point (21 vs 20). Timmons wasn't even close (8). Makes me wonder whether the media just dislikes Timmons or if the message board general public is overrating him.

Jerod Mayo led the entire NFL with 175 tackles.

Timmons had 40 fewer tackles, and Urlacker had 50 fewer tackles. I think you're living in the past or just haven't been watching much football this season. Urlacher made 2nd team all-pro.

Tackles are a generally overrated stat dude, I'm not living in the past. There's more to playing LB than a single stat line, especially when most of the tackle differential is on assists. Another stat line I found that I believe shows more of the picture

Mayo: 113 Solo Tackles & 61 Assisted Tackles for 174 Total Tackles(72 Within 4 Yards of LoS), 2 Sacks, 3 Run Stuffs(1 Solo), 1 Forced Fumble, 5 Passes Defensed
Urlacher: 97 Solo Tackles & 29 Assisted Tackles for 126 Total Tackles(61 Within 4 Yards of LoS), 4 Sacks, 10 Run Stuffs(8 Solo), 2 Forced Fumbles, 10 Passes Defensed, 1 Interception
Timmons: 95 Solo Tackles & 37 Assisted Tackles for 132 Total Tackles(82 Within 4 Yards of LoS), 3 Sacks, 7 Run Stuffs(5 Solo), 2 Forced Fumbles, 9 Passes Defensed, 2 Interceptions
Lewis: 102 Solo Tackles & 37 Assisted Tackles for 139 Total Tackles(81 Within 4 Yards of LoS), 2 Sacks, 5 Run Stuffs(4 Solo), 2 Forced Fumbles, 4 Passes Defensed, 2 Interceptions
Johnson: 96 Solo Tackles & 26 Assisted Tackles for 122 Total Tackles(60 Within 4 Yards of Los), 1 Sack, 6 Stuffs(6 Solo), 4 Forced Fumbles, 15 Passes Defensed, 1 Interception

^ By looking at that stat, imo Timmons seems to be the better linebacker of that group.

You must be trying to be sarcastic here.......really? Mayo blew everyone away in tackles and was a beast out there. Urlacher had good yr....Mayo was better!
