Cedric Benson says he will leave Cincinnati if the offensive staff doesn't change (which it won't). The guy had a monster year in 09 despite missing something like 3 games with an injury, has great patience, good awareness, can pound it in and at the same time use quickness.

Personally, I think he would be a great fit here.

His best year ever was not better than BJGE's this year.

The only stat he beat him in was total yards and that's because he played more games.

Depends on the price tag, but I'd be interested. Maybe more interested in Johnathan Joseph, but I think he'll be too expensive.

Re: If BB Decides For a RB . . .

there will be better backs than Benson to compliment BJGE in the 4th round or later

Re: If BB Decides For a RB . . .

The one thing that you can say for Benson is that he's a workhorse. But given the bulk of carries that he gets, I can think of a ton of RBs who would do more than he did in 2010. Should be able to get a better, cheaper back for the pick that it would take to acquire him.

If you give Cedric Benson the Pats O-Line, that could be very, very dangerous for other teams. That would like be getting Correy Dillon all over again. lol Benson has that fight for every yard mentality, and with Lawfirm back there to support him, that would be a dangerous combo.

Not even close on Corey Dillon comparation. He is a JAG

That's my point. Although I agree with the post above in that he's not Corey Dillon, he had an unreliable offense this season where he was down on confidence. BB can really work to his strengths and make him great.

NO! NEVER! I'd have a hard time rooting for the pats if LT joined. Yea we won the super bowl! Damnit LT got a ring.

Re: If BB Decides For a RB . . .

NO ring(s) for LT.. screw him.. sissy biatch

Re: If BB Decides For a RB . . .

I hope we've learned from our M.A.S.H. list bench the last few years that RB is a young man's position. Time to dip back in the draft pool, don't be ascared.

Re: If BB Decides For a RB . . .

I would love to see Pierre Thomas here......

I think we see 3 significant FA signings pre-draft. A guard, a RB and an OLB.

You got rocks in your head????No way in hell the classless will play for BB,he is not man enough to to play for BB

There should be plenty of money to go around, considering that all of these draft picks are making way less than any veterans of similar ability. That's one reason the Jets should be in cap hell, lack of recent draft picks.

Every year we won the SB was with a RB that was far removed from being drafted, so this statement isn't very close to accurate at all.

You need a Hungry Vet, and Benson would be a strong workhorse for 1 to 2 years.

You need a bigger back for 3rd downs. I would love a backfield of Benson-Green-Ellis... it just sounds like a better lawfirm :)

That's a small sample. If you want to get one or two good years out of a running back, do what we've done. That's like saying, because maroney was a headcase, no teams have ever got running backs in the draft.

There are very few RBs of the caliber of a Dillon or Fred Taylor, and we got one superior season out of the two of them combined.

Smith was only in his 4th season when we acquired him and he petered out due to a lack of personal drive (IMO).
