On several occasions today, Jim Nance showed his implicit support of the NYJets.
First, he argued against the fumble call on Sanchez just prior to the 1st half. He said it was an incomplete pass. His judgment was challenged by Phil Simms.
Second, on Pittsburgh's goal line stand, he said disbelievingly and reluctantly that Tomlinson did not make it. Of course, Nance and CBS would have loved it if the Jets had narrowed the game to a one possession game.
Finally, he was looking ahead to one final dramatic possession/possible touchdown for win for the Jets, which the Steelers prevented by getting the first down.
Sorry Nance your team didn't make it. Perhaps he was compensating this week for his criticism by Jets beatwriters and fans.
