I'll congratulate the Pats GM for landing McCourty in Round 2. That is quite the feat. Moeaki also looks like he would have been a pretty good tight end for us. In his first year in KC he amassed over 500 yards receiving and 3 TDs.

I was the mock draft GM for the Raiders in 2010.

Here was my haul:
1st round 8 Oakland-Eric Berry S Tennessee. The Raiders would not have been disappointed with Berry who emerged as a leader in the Chief's secondary with 92 tackles, 4 sacks, 9 PDs, and 4 INTs.
2nd round 39 Oakland-Rodger Saffold OT Indiana. This tackle became an instant 16 game starter for the Saint Louis Rams, helping to protect Bradford's blindside.
3rd round 69 Oakland-Lamar Houston DT Texas. Oakland coveted this player so much that they took him a round earlier in their actual draft. He justified their expectations with 39 tackles and 5 sacks in his rookie season.
4th round 106 Oakland Raiders-Eric Norwood OLB South Carolina. Played in 15 games for the Panthers his rookie season with no starts. Totaling 13 tackles, 1 sack, and a forced fumble.
7th round 215 Oakland-Clay Harbor FB Missouri. Converted to a TE for the Eagles and had a quiet year. Just 9 catches for 72 yards and a TD.
7th round 251 Oakland-Alterraun Verner CB UCLA. Verner would have been the STEAL of the draft for the Raiders. In his rookie season with Tennessee he totaled 101 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 11 PDs, and 3 INTs.

In short, except for Norwood and Harbor, this looks like an outstanding draft, picked by a football genius. ^_^ If we had been given the ability to trade, I might have been able to trade down and get even more value but for staying pat, I think I did pretty well with what I had to work with.

Here was Oakland's actual haul:
1st round 8 LB Rolando McClain. In his 1st season McClain had 85 tackles, a half sack, 6 pass deflections, and an INT. He seems well on his way to a promising career and helps shore up the Raiders defensive line.
2nd round 44 DL Lamarr Houston. See above.
3rd round 69 OT Jared Veldheer. Played in all 16 games for the Raiders, starting 11 of them.
4th round 106 OT Bruce Campbell. Campbell played in 10 games but earned no starts for the Raiders in his rookie year.
4th round 108 WR Jacoby Ford. Turned into a rather good pick for the speedster-obssessed Al Davis. Contributed immediately in the kick return and receiving game.
5th round 138 CB Walter McFadden. Played sparingly in 4 games, totaling 5 tackles.
6th round 190 LB Travis Goethal. Totaled 9 tackles in 8 games played.
7th round 215 CB Jeremy Ware. Had 1 tackle in 8 games.
7th round 251 S Stevie Brown. Had 30 tackles and 2 PDs in 15 games.

The Raiders had a fairly good draft by their standards. It is clear that the jettisoning of Jamarcuss Russell and the infusion of new blood and talent from the 2010 draft is one reason why they finished with an 8-8 record this season.

So how did you do in the draft compared to your team?

Can`t win `em all! ;)

Here are the guys who were on my big board for the Pats last draft:

Brandon Graham*
Kareem Jackson/Kyle Wilson (McCourty might have been my 3rd choice)
Roger Saffold (still stunned we didn't take him)
Tyson Alualu/Torrell Troup
Jason Worilds*
Ben Tate/Toby Gerhart/Montario Hardesty (stunned we didn't take an RB)
Damian Williams/Emmanuel Sanders/Andre Roberts/Antonio Brown (Price)
Daniel Te'o-Nesheim (who I still think is actually Irish)* (Cunningham instead)
Dennis Pitta and Andrew Quarless (Gronk and Hernandez)
Mike Kafka (Zac Robinson)
Matt Tennant
Deji Karim
Cody Grimm
Jamar Chaney (Spikes)
Dorin ****erson (as an RB)
Seyi Ajirotutu
Blair White
Keiland Williams (Pat Paschall)

Yep. Total whiff. Unless I'd been mocking for the Eagles, in which case I hit on 6-7.

Wow a lot of your guys were hit by the injury bug. At least you guessed the Titan's 1st round pick correctly. Who knows maybe Morgan will come back healthy and have a strong year in 2010. I remember a lot of draft posters coveting Morgan for the Pats that year. Decker wouldn't have been a bad pick for them. But as you noted they got some 7th round guy to come in and play that role pretty well. Minny's QB situation was pretty crappy so Decker still has a chance to possibly emerge. Playing GM isn't so easy. Some years you look brilliant and other years you look like you're wearing clown shoes. And if you're really unlucky, you look like you're the Jets. ^_^

Out of those, Saffold and Alualu turned out to be the best picks. I bet the Colts regret not taking Saffold instead of Hughes.
I misjudged Hughes but I would not have drafted him for the Colts. They already had Freeney and Mathis.
Their OL and their DL needed the most help. They didn't address it.
Hey but glad to see that the Colts neglecting their OL finally bit em in the ass.
Looks like PM isn't Superman after all. He needs help.
