SB 25. The Buffalo Bills, K-gun offense, the highest scoring in the NFL with 428 points.

Against the NY Giants, with the best defense in the NFL, allowing only 211 points during the season.

Parcells offense, emasculated the K-Gun, by staying on the field for forty minutes, while BB's defense, totally disrupted the no huddle, high flying, Jim Kelly led passing attack.

Resulting in a 20-19 victory, and catapulting BB into the " Genius " category.

The genius pulled off the same thing in SB 36. The Greatest Show on Turf went down in flames.

Steve Spagnuolo turned the table in SB 42, as the greatest offense in history was stymied, and limited to a paltry 17 points.

And last week, another defense did the same thing to the NFL's highest ranked offense.

It should be clear by now, that BB's blueprint from SB 25, is still being used to great effect.

All a team needs are the right, high talent defensive players, to execute that scheme, and any high flying offense can be made to look inept.

It's high time for BB to come up with another game plan. A game plan that will allow any talented offense to beat the defense that he, himself, devised.

Buffalo had the ball for 19:27. They scored 19 points.

Buffalo racked up 371 yards of offense.

Buffalo had 166 yards rushing.

Kelly did not throw an INT and completed 61% of his passes.

NYG won b/c BUF's inability to get off the field on 3rd down 9/16 and their offense's inability to convert on 3rd down 1/8.

History is unkind to BUF. They convert one measly 1st down or are 2 yrds closer for Norwood and they win.

But, they didn't.

You know what they say? In order to beat BB you have to first think like BB, then you have to wish his team beat themselves to death, we did both on last sunday, so the jest gets a win:D
Actually the truth is that even though BB looks like a Genius, it has been so many years since he has been in the league, he does sometimes make the rest of the league look stupid with his plays, but with time the rest of the league is catching up, in recent years it is getting quicker. Dumb fact about that: the Ryan brothers are 3-1 vs BB in last season, and guess who told the jest in the first place to hire Rex Ryan? Bill Parcells. Which means that the rest of the league is forming a colletive effect to best BB's game. Before this Ryan brother thing? The only one I would thought of ever be on BB's level is probably payton manning himself.
And don't forget his ignorace, it kills him, kills the team sometimes.:(

In the Carolina Super Bowl, the Patriots passed themselves to victory. They didn't win with defense.

Therefore the Patriots should go back to passing the ball like crazy and not worry about defense.

Yes I'm being sarcastic.

Liking the sarcasm :D

The also ran the ball 35 times but I'm sure it's purely coincidental that Kris Jenkins, Julius Peppers, Brenston Bucker and Mike Rucker- who as a unit recorded 10 sacks in the previous 3 playoff games, didn't record a single sack vs TB. Pats O-Line- Light, Andruzzi, Koppen, Hochestein, Tom Ashworth.

Still one of the weirdest SBs ever. Q1 and Q3 its a defensive bloodbath. For the For the Q2 and Q4, it's Madden.

in regards to "the kicker won that game" nonsense

if vintieri hit his 1st 31yd fieldgoal attempt we wouldn't have needed the last one.(for the brady haters)

BB is the assassin of the high powered offense, taking down the high powered Manning lead colts were probably the funniest. he made it a point to make the number 1 weapons look like total hacks.

This last loss has to be the straw the broke the camels back for BB, I'm sure he's in D mode for the coming years.(I hope)

The K-Gun, never want our team to be mentioned in the same sentence as jim kelly's bills.
4 SB losses, lmao

BB's defense was the difference on that field goal. They didn't give up those extra two yards.

Over and over, that same type of defense beats the heavily favored, record setting , fireworks offense. The players change, but the plays remain the same.

The defensive line needs to make more of an impact on getting to the QB.This team is in serious need of a Richard Seymour and a OLB that can rush the passer.I dont know if Jermaine Cunningham is that guy.I was surprise they even took Jermaine Cunningham in the draft.

During those years, the Bills kicked Patriot butt on a regular basis. It's just proof that the best offense in the league, doesn't count for much in the playoffs. By the way, the Patriots have now lost three Super Bowls, one more loss, and their legacy will look completely different.

BB's been looking for another Lawrence Taylor for years. The closest he's had is Willie McGinest.

Could Cunningham develop into that guy ? Probably not, but give him a chance.

I think running the ball 35 times had a lot to do with the zero sacks.

Totally agree, a weird but very enjoyable win. One of my favorite games ever, it had everything.

09 Saints
99 Rams
98 Broncos
97 Broncos
96 Packers
94 49ers
91 Redskins

Are some examples of high powered offenses that had success in the playoffs.

but they didn't do it without a staller defense, just ask John Elway in those 2 back to back years of winning SB, and why he didn't get to win any of those games when he was doing "the drvie"

He was saying high powered offenses don't succeed in the playoffs, I was giving examples of some that did.

And the Elway Broncos of the 80s D were relativly the same as the 97-98 Broncos D. The reason were the 97-98 teams were better were becaue of players like Terrell Davis and Gary Zimmerman.

The way BB's defense made Scott Norwood shank that chip shot FG was a thing of beauty.

If not for his back issues and early retirement,Katzenmoyer would have been the LB and sack artist we would have loved.

We don't know that. Kat had great physical ability but in terms of being able to play in this defense, unsure at best.
