I can't say I'd be unhappy if the Patriots landed:

DE JJ Watt
RB Mark Ingram
OC/G S Wisniewski
OLB J Beal

In the third round, I might rather go for guys like John Moffitt, Quan Sturdivant, Kris O'Dowd over a WR like Cobb.

I'm not sure why so many people keep mocking us Mark Ingram. Frankly I just don't see the value there. We have two good RBs already and I'd agree that it would be wise to add at least one more for depth but a 1st round pick should be an every down player not someone who is going to be splitting carries with 2 other guys

Don't put alot of stock into what this guy "projects." He's a stupid 20 something year old kid who throws out random names of prospects and assumes that they would fit in our system. a few weeks ago he had us drafting Dontay Moch in the 3rd round and the guy is like 237 or 240 lbs! Way too light for our OLB spot. Also, he tries to throw in stupid jokes that aren't even funny. Just ignore this dude, he's a tool.

i think brady needs his Terrell Davis. i would love to see brady go on the course that elway did later in his career. i think mark ingram is gonna be good. he reminds me alot like emmitt smith, and i think a lot of people see it too.

In 2010, the big RB stories were Arian Foster, Legarette Blount, BJGE, and Danny Woodhead.

All UDFA.

Lot a recent big pick RB's Benson, Beannie Wells, Joe McNight,Reggie Bush, Maroney, Addai, Donald Brown.

You have to find the right back. Plenty have made it big from the first round. some guys didn't make it big until a few years later. Look at Jamaal Charles, 2nd round draft pick.

I'm not a fan of Ingram at 28 either BUT if we land a kid like Beal in the second round, I will have checked off 3 needs AND landed Ingram in the process.

Been thinking the same thing for quite a while now, going more run oriented, be nice to keep #12 off the ground and extend his career.

Not sure about the RB, does seem the high picks don't buy you much lately.

Would like to see a change in OL style.

I would not be upset with that draft. But the Patriots need that pass rushing OLB, after passing on my personal favorite Clay Matthew. (even with that hair)

If the guy is a 1st rounder, 2nd or 3rd, it doesn't matter. The Patriots have all the ammo needed to move up to get that guy if he is above #17. And this year I want them to use it.

Perfect. It couldn't be any better for me. I'd be happy with anyone of those guys never mind all 4.

If Mark Ingram is sitting there at #28 I don't think we should take him. We should trade down if there really is no one better to take at that spot.

That kid out of Rutgers turned out pretty damn good.

Assuming no trade ups, I have no problem with Ingram at #28, just not at #17. BJGE is a nice #2 RB and Woodhead is a good change of pace back, but Ingram would give us a force in the backfield we haven't had since Dillion.

I generally don't like spending 1st round picks on RB's, but at #28 with Ingram I can make the exception. Take some of the weight off Brady's shoulders. No one feared the Pats running game. That's the Jets just played nickel and dime all day -- they new the Pats relied heavily on the pass and weren't scared of BJGE doing any damage.

Some of the problems may be with the OL, but a stud RB like Ingram will make this offense even more balanced and efficient. I think the lack of a threatening running game has really hurt us the last few years in the postseason. Opponents know that we rely heavily on Brady to win and score, just like the Colts do with Manning. They play a ton of dime or nickel because they don't fear Taylor, Morris, Maroney, BJGE, etc.

If they Jets want to come out and play dime all day with Ingram in the backfield, let them. Ingram will make them pay.

While I like Ingram I'm not really sure he'd be a big upgrade for us, he runs behind a really good line and is also playing against college competition. Look at it this way, if Law Firm were to jump Alabma's offense I think he'd tear it up, but I could be wrong though.

I'd MUCH rather take #28 and beef up the D-line or grab a linebacker.

First Charles was the 10th pick in the 3rd rd, I was clammoring for him back then.....as we had the pick right there and traded it to SD for their #2 2 years ago(Butler?) and then used our other 2 3rds to pick ODonnell and Crable! UGG.

Ingram would be a definate improvement, running backs are supposed to have a "wiggle" to them to make guys miss. Not sure I can remember the last Patriot RB that had ANY kind of a "wiggle". I think Ingram would be good if he projects to a 3 down RB(LT, Charles, Sanders, Smith,etc) but not if he is simply a 2 down RB. I think a 3 down RB eliminates the need to carry both Faulk and Woodhead next year.

Having seena fair number of Alabama games the past 2 years, I don't think Ingram is a sure enough bet to be an impact back to merit a 1st round pick, even at 28.

He's not available yet, but I'd take Richardson over Ingram. (Granted, Alabama could just have 2 great backs -- but I can't help comparing them, and Richardson seems to make more would-be tacklers miss than Ingram does.)

I agree, if he's right, get him.

However, there always seems to be RB talent later and I question the long term viability of college workhorses.

Anybody have any idea what NFL RB's are available? Marion Barber always seemed to be a good fit.

Quite a few. Michael Bush is a fa I think fits the Patriot mold. Ahmad Bradshaw has fumblig problems. Barber has health issues. Pierre Thomas same.

Btw.... Am I having sarcasm fail with the Rutgers, Fresno St comment?

Since we have the 33rd pick, just wait until that rolls around to draft Ingram. I can't see the Bears, Packers, Jets, or Steelers taking him. So spend 28 on a DE/DT and 33 on Ingram.
