I believe Carolina will take one of these two. They will pass on QB and give Clausen another year. Their owner will Not pay 2 QB's and they like to run and play solid defense which is not a bad idea.

As bad as the offense was last year I still think they pass on A.J. Green.

If you could choose; who do you think will be the better Pro?
thanks

I agree that Carolina will likely choose between these two, and also AJ Green. I think WR and DT are much bigger needs so I dont think they will take Bowers. And I dont see the Carolina front office having the guts to go WR #1. So I think Fairley is the most likely and makes the most sense. He fills the biggest need at DT and is worth the #1 pick. Another consideration here is Ron Rivera is the new HC, so I think that makes it even more likely they go D-line over WR.

A lot may depend on Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert. One could easily launch himself into the #1 spot. Clausen is a 2nd rounder, right? As such, he gets paid less than most NFL backups. No big deal for an owner.

Also the fact that Clausen blows kind of doesn't make him an impediment to drafting a QB.

Didn't want to start my own thread here, but I gotta say that Bowers looks like a demon to me. If the Patriots were to trade up and use this guy in that McGinest, Elephant role, I would be extremely pleased.

They just made Steve Smith happy by bringing in Fred Graves his former college position coach to be WR Coach and also brought in Ricky Proehl his former mentor to be an Offensive Quality Control (Assist WR Coach). So A.J Green probably won't be the pick.

Nick Fairley does fill a need but also has character issues and was a JUCO transfer who had one good year.

I think Bowers will be the pick. Charles Johnson is a FA and their other DE's are decent but not great. Bowers also only blossomed this year but was the top 5 Star Recruit coming out of HS in 2008 so this is about where he should be in his career.
