If Jets lose against Pitt...will it diminish their win against us a little bit?

Right now they are on the seventh sky and can't even remotely perceive the thought of losing. But if they do lose - does it take away ALOT of the gloss from their win against us?

I would think it does. It would be like if the RedSox (after beating the Yanks in the ALCS 0-3 down) lost in the WSeries to St. Louis. It wouldn't be complete.

Let's hope they lose and lose royally!

Honestly, he11 NO. They came into our house and b1tch slapped us.

If they loose to the Steelers all it proves is that there is more than BB's way to get to the SB. You need a solid D that plays hard and an OL that is not afraid to punch the opponent in the face.

I am sure many Patriots fans will feel good about a Jets loss this Sunday, but I do not think it will diminish their win in Foxborough.

For them yes, because winning the Super Bowl was their goal.

For us, no, because winning the Super Bowl was "our" goal.

If they lose they can only remember 1969

Only thing it will diminish is Jets fan's jacka@@ spirits and Rex's desire to suck toes. That whole team sucks something, that's for sure.

For the Pats and Pats fans, no. No matter what happens to the Jets going forward, it doesn't diminish the sting of the loss to the Jets.

For the Jets, absolutely. Sure they beat on the Pats, but in the end, they ended up falling short of why teams play in the playoffs - win the Lombardi trophy. I mean 16-0 was made almost irrelevant because of one freak reception by a bad WR (among one of three plays on a single drive that shot the Pats' chances for perfection). So how would beating the Pats mean all that much if the Jets lose to the Steelers?

If people want to feel better about the loss if the Jets lose, so be it. It doesn't really change for us going forward. The loss is what it is. If I were a Jets fan, the win won't mean nearly as much if the Jets don't seal the deal and win it all.

Yes - good assesment. The Jet rats are right now describing their reactions "when" they win the SuperBowl. If they will cry, dance, run out naked, suck on some toes, etc. They are so oblivious to the fact that they still need to win 2 more games. They have seen the promised land and can taste it but if there is superior being out there - he/she/it needs to make sure that the Jets never ever get near the Lombardi.

It's one crazy post after another.

How does NOT getting to the Super bowl prove alternate ways of getting to the Super Bowl?

and, man, would you stop it with this idea that the OL didn't man up?

The Jets did what the Patriots typically do, play mistake free football, capitalize on the opponents miscues, jump to a big lead, then clog up the passing game with zones as they strangle you to death. The Jets did it to the Patriots. The OL was pass blocking our of empty sets, which gives the DL a huge advantage in terms of aggression.

It will diminish their win in Foxboro from what people are making it out to be.

Frankly, I draw no future lessons from that loss other than the fact that we need pass rushers.

And they will lose. They have had their Super Bowl and are sitting on their laurels....

it will diminish their win for them. for us, i could care less what happens. we arent there

Nah, why would it? Won't change the fact that we would have smoked Pittsburgh, and everyone knows it, even Steelers fans.

when you lose in the playoffs to a team that eventually doesn't get, or loses in the superbowl, it makes you feel worse about your team , at least it does with me

that said, if it's a division rival like your situation with the jets, no way in hell you can cheer for them either

so if they win the superbowl it means you lost to the best, no shame

if they lose at pitt, it means they had a let down, or pitt was just better, and you didn't lose to the best

if they go on to lose the superbowl, it just means you lost to the best afc team but not the best team

Hell no, Jets beat the Patriots fair and square. There were two plays that killed the Patriots, they simply didn't make them. The Jets made the plays and the Patriots DID NOT.....game set match.

A Jets loss to the Steelers changes nothing. The Jets trash talked all week, came into the Razor and cut the Patriots deep. They have the bragging rights.

This is the 2nd worst loss in franchise history IMO.

It was awful and nothing they do will change that for us and that's all I care about it. But them winning it all will make it worse for us.

The Jets just beat the Colts and the Patriots on the road. Beating the Steelers is a very real possibility.

They deserve all the plaudits they get for performing for the second off-season on the road again.

I'd say yes, a bit - unless the Sewagets get some 'hardware' to take home with them to commemorate their little playoff run, this game will take on the quality of a glorified regular-season playoff-bid spoiler. It's harder to gloat without a trophy...

No. That's how the Jets would think if we had won on Sunday and then lost to Pittsburgh.

The truth is the Jets made us look bad.

If I'm a Jets fan and the Jets lose on Sunday, I still think of the playoff wins in Indy and Foxboro as something to build on. I'm thinking, "We're this close. Over the last two seasons, we're 4--2 on the road in the playoffs and the Pats are 0--2 at home."

We can take zero satisfaction that Roethlisberger beats them. In fact, if you think about it, both Manning and Brady have limited skills outside the pocket, which is where Rex wanted them and where they stayed.

Roethlisberger throws the whole equation off for the Jets because he can turn a three or four man rush and blanket coverage of his receivers downfield into big gains. As much as it pains me to admit it, I'm fascinated to see how Rex game plans against Big Ben, who presents a totally different challenge than Peyton and Tommy.
