The Steelers winning another Superbowl is the single worst thing that could happen. I would honestly rather see the Jets win.
If Manning and Brady had the Steelers defense it wouldn't be fair for the rest of the league.
I was thinking that so far it has always been Brady v Manning despite Ben having 2 rings vs 1 of Manning. Now if Ben gets 3 - I still think people will put Brady above Ben BUT where does that put Manning? Surely with 1 ring - I can't think how anyone can put Manning ahead of Ben. Will it now be Ben vs Brady instead of Manning vs Brady? That might be the only positive in case the Steelers do end up winning....
I fail to see how another QB getting a 3rd SB (if that even happens--long way to go yet) in any way diminishes what Manning or Brady has done. It's not a zero sum game where success by one team or player means that another player or team's accomplished are knocked down a peg. The Pats had an incredible run--maybe the greatest run in the free agency era--from '01 to '04...how does what happens in the 2011 SB possibly take away from that?
Re/ the poster who said Roethlisberger is "this era's Terry Bradshaw"...well they're very different QBs in very different eras, but I think I speak for most Steelers fans in saying that we'll happily take that comparison...particularly if it means we get 4 SBs like Bradshaw did
