I was thinking that so far it has always been Brady v Manning despite Ben having 2 rings vs 1 of Manning. Now if Ben gets 3 - I still think people will put Brady above Ben BUT where does that put Manning? Surely with 1 ring - I can't think how anyone can put Manning ahead of Ben. Will it now be Ben vs Brady instead of Manning vs Brady? That might be the only positive in case the Steelers do end up winning....

Nothing positive can come from that - believe me

LOL it still stays the same.

Ben is this generations Terry bradshaw and steeler fans know it.

Troy is the leader of that team.

If big ben wins his third, god help Brady and his legacy  On the other hand, I have a serious jealousy about how PITT is able to maintain a great D year after year.

LOL that sound would the same silly argument steeler fans say when try to say bradshaw was as good as montana

montana's number #1

brady's #2

but ben winning his 3rd and being 3-0 without losing any sbs, that's gonna put him in some good company, company manning and brady aren't part of, but still brady maintains #2 despite his recent sucking in the playoffs

Kind of shows why SB's are not a perfect gauge of QB play. Ben's 1st one was pretty awful; they won despite his play...

This is just lame thinking by you. you have to get to Super Bowl to lose it.

Explain to me why it's better to lose the AFCCG?

Go back and look at Montana's record, and then look at Brady's record in the AFCCG.

Are we going to argue that Brady is better because he has a better championship game record?

sb is the most clutch stage of the game, and montana was perfect there, no losses, nary an int even

end of debate, sorry

brady = #2

Defense Wins Championships... when Brady had one he got 3 rings when Manning, had one that played good in the playoffs he got one and big ben has all ways had a top defense and if he gets 3 good for him.

as far as who is the GOAT who cares i say just watch and enjoy Brady he will be done in a few years and the pats may end up with a average QB and 10 win seasons could be hard to come by

Out of curiosity, if Brady were to win a 4th would you still put him below Montana because he lost one?

I never thought this was possible but now I really think that if Ben wins it again this year he may get his 4th ring before Brady would

I posted this in another thread but all the greats have sucked way worse on another level than tom's sunday performance(or the previous year), Joe M being 1 of them.

If Peyton we're on the steelers he'd have 2 rings w better sats imo.

Ben Roethlisberger 22QB rating 1st super bowl(lmao)

I'd still put Manning ahead of him or rather I'd take Manning as a QB before big ben.

Is this topic serious?

Ben is NO WHERE on the level of Manning or Brady. A 1x Pro-Bowler against Manning and Brady who MULTIPLE (soon for TB) regular season MVPs and amazing statistical records.

Come on now. Ben isn't even a top 5 QB in the NFL right NOW. (Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Rivers, Vick/Brees)

If Ben wins a 3rd, he'll be on the same plane as Troy Aikman. Same # of rings, close in playoff wins, etc.

Moreso, if you project BRs playoff game averages to Aikman's, they will be strikingly similar. Even their lifetime QB ratings are almost the same. Weird.

With that said, no one will confuse those QBs with Brady, Manning, Brees, Montana, etc.

I think the Troy Aikman/Terry Bradshaw comparisons are unfair.

He's 8th all-time in passer rating, ahead of guys like Brees and Favre and even Joe Montana despite playing behind one of the worst offensive lines ever during the past few seasons. If he wins his 3rd ring, I don't think it would be that much of a stretch to rank him ahead of Manning considering how Roethlisberger absolutely crushes him when it comes to playoff success while actually also having a better winning percentage in the regular season as well.

just my opinion

1. Joe Montana
2. Tom Brady
3. Drew Brees
4. Peyton Manning

Ben is below bradshaw imo(8 or 9). The top 3 just seem to be more clutch. Manning is just plain scary looking in the field.

I have no biast to brady for being our QB,(I didn't like Bledsoe just because he was our QB) He's proved the 1st SB was no fluke w 2 more rings, proved he can put up the best stats in nfl history for all the stat whores and has a winning percentage no QB can touch I believe(over .725 maybe)

If Ben wins 3 with a solid performance I'd still keep him below peyton and bradshaw. size and durability probably #1 he's just not as sharp as many other qb's

Unfair to who? Bradshaw and Aikman is pretty damn good company.

You are right on the Pitt o-line as since 2004, Pitt has never finished better than 22nd in fewest sacks. Part of that is on the line. Part of that is on Ben as he will let the play develop and take the hit. I give him full credit for that.

Hes got a ways to go before folks start putting him in elite QB company. He is not a HoF QB- yet.

We'll have to disagree here.

In my opinion Roethlisberger is already a future Hall of Famer. Every single quarterback with more than 2 rings, except for Jim Plunkett, is in the HOF and as I wrote in my earlier post, statistically Roethlisberger is already ahead of a lot of HOF quarterbacks, including Bradshaw and Aikman.

We should care about Tom getting his fourth instead of worrying about Manning..and Ben
