Apparently this is how Darrell Revis feels: Revis to Pats: 'Take the loss like a man'

Um, isn't his teammate LaDanian Tomlinson? You want to see someone who complains about things? Look in your own locker room, buddy.

Mods, you can move this if there is already a thread.

This team should be embarrassed... I can't believe we actually caved to their talk and bravado.

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

He isn't wrong. And the Jets don't celebrate like idiots if they don't win.

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

He's right

In a game the Jets fans were comparing to the ultimate “David and Goliath” takedown, Bill Belichick and the boys’ six-year drought in their quest for a fourth Super Bowl ring ended with a whimper. Not even the occasional spark of brilliance by an individual player could light a fire under the team as a whole.

“This is the most offense I’ve seen all damn day,” one man in a Tom Brady [stats] jersey screamed at the field as his idol scored his final touchdown of the season and the clock ticked down on the Pats’ playoff dreams.

Numbed by the bitter cold, a majority of fans didn’t even stick around to see the 28-21 final result.

“We got nothing going, and this is the end result. It’s pretty much the worst it’s been since 2007,” said Al Rowe of Lynn, with a liberal use of expletives.

Lisa Scarnecchia, daughter of Patriots assistant head coach Dante Scarnecchia, looked as though she’d been hit by a train as she waited inside Gillette Stadium with other players’ quiet, stunned family members.

“I’m sad for my dad — devastated for him,” she said. “He works hard all year. He works his butt off.”

Jets coach Rex Ryan was pelted with ice and soft drinks as he strode off the field past Pats die-hards, but he ignored their taunts.

Asked how they did it, Sean Slinn of Rockland County, N.Y., a gloating Gang Greener, said, “That’s (winning is) all we do. Rex Ryan takes all the pressure off the players. It’s why he talks as much as he does.”

John Manning of Brooklyn, N.Y., said, “We’re New Yorkers. We always believe. This is our year. Make sure you tell people that, this is our year.”

So now it’s up to the Jets to carry the East Coast bragging rights banner into their date with destiny with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday for the AFC Championship and a berth in the Super Bowl.

But for “Pete” of Sutton, it’s home to a warm couch.

“What a waste of a 14-and-2 season,” lamented Pete, who declined to give his last name. “I’m very sad, but I’m walking out with some Jets fans. I’m just trying to find some solace in my friend’s happiness.”

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

Your biggest win in 40 years is a 2nd round playoff game. I've never seen a franchise get so worked up and ****y about a team that hasn't done anything.

It's worth saying twice.

Your name is just perfect justice. :D

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

"Just take the loss like a man, just take it like a man. And move on," Revis said on Monday afternoon. "[The Patriots] do stuff as well. I don't know who was doing it or whatever, but if so, whatever.

"If they would have won, I'm sure they would have probably did ... the taunting, like they do. Last game we played them, their secondary was doing the 'airplane' [a Jets celebration] and just teasing us. So you've got to take it both ways when you win or lose. When you play, just try to prove people wrong and win the game, that's all I can say."

Revis has been humble all week and is he wrong? Branch was talking smack all game...and after the game he calls the Jets classless? Time to man up..it goes both ways

This is also worth saying twice: Your franchise's most meaninful game in FORTY YEARS was a 2nd round playoff game. You haven't done anything yet. You don't get anything for beating a divisional rival, yet most Jet fans think they've conquered the world.

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

Jet fans;

Yeah, I know. The Patriots are not allowed to gloat, to celebrate, to taunt at all. Every other team gets a Class Pass, and are just excited. But the Patriots are strictly forbidden from it. Compliment the Jets "They are false compliments!" Respond to trash talk "That's going too far!" The Patriots celebrating AFTER the Jets talked sh!t all week "Classless punks".

You double standard douchebags drive me absolutely crazy. Why do you spend time here? Just go to whatever place you vile, loathesome, sh!t talking dirtbags go when you're not watching that scumbag team you cheer on.

Please, just leave us alone. You're the worst kind of human...trolling Patriot message boards to get a kick out of our misery. And spare me the "Patriots fans do it too" rhetoric...those information superhighway pitstops lock up tigher than Fort Knox after your precious white knights lose.

I've asked this multiple times and never received a response other than something along the lines of shut the eff up:

Why is the Light's Out dance perfectly fine when Merriman does it, but a horrible thing when a Patriot does it? Why is the airplane some sort of fun, happy celebration when one player does it, but teasing when another player does the same thing?

It's either taunting in both cases, or a celebration in both cases. It's hypocritical to say otherwise.

Seriously??? If someone has a trademark celebration and somebody else on an opposing team does it..its taunting. Think about it.

You ever talk to the Mensa folks? I am sure you could join. Great logic.

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

Revis never spoke any smack before are after the game. Branch is/was upset about a tough loss and was lashing out, a common reaction. Revis was asked to respond to Branch's comment and he did. I see no problems here.

Hey I was here before the season and have taken my fair share of abuse. I think a little gloating is deserved. As far as the celebration crap, you earn that when you win. I never complained about the Pats celebrating I only bring it up when people claim the Jets are classless. Pats have done over the top stuff as well.

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

We lost ... it is what it is ... do we need to post every grade school trash talk thread out there?

As is the original celebration. Think about it.

Jets have the worst fan base in professional sports. That's quite an accomplishment given the bad fan bases out there.

Don't forget what board you're on. You can discuss the game here, leave the gloating on that cesspool JI or gangreen.

The Jets didn't start the airplane, and really why are you still hanging around here? The game is over already, take your nonsense to the Stillers boards, ya Hump.

So when Jared Allen does his "calf-roping" celebration and Merriman does "lights out"..you really think they are rubbing it in? If you do you are very sensitive. You dont think its just something they celebrate with and get the crowd pumped up after a big play? I think it has a little different meaning when somebody on a opposing team uses it.
