I know we have become spoiled somewhat with the success of the early part of last decade but it almost seems like the team is teasing us and heading to the playoffs but only to throw a stinker early and a quick exit (other than 2007 which we know was a prolonged tease :snob:)

Are you losing faith that this team can get back to the promised land before Belichick and Brady are no longer here in 5 years or so?

I really don't know how much more one and done I can take..I can't help it but I know even if they make it to the postseason next year I will be very hesitant that they can make it past one game no matter how good they look in the regular season.

I know it could be worse and I could be a Lions fan or a fan of a perrenial losing organization, but still its frustrating, especially a 14-2 team that showed no signs of slowing down..until yesterday :bricks:

I have been through the 1-15 campaigns and they were horrid but at least I knew what to expect from those teams,The team these days leaves me with my hands up in the air not knowing what we have and if they are ready to play or not week to week

....I relish the consistency we had on 03 and 04 and realize it will be VERY hard to come close to that type of team again.

No I'm very confident this team will be SB bound and more than once before TB and BB retire. They are laying the foundation right now with all those kids.
Have a killer draft in '11, add a vet or two and away we go. :D

No, I have not lost faith. **** happens, but next year we are almost certainly back in it and a top SB contender.

I think you hit the nail on the head on the last point. Winning the Super Bowl is really tough to do. A lot of breaks have to go your way. Add this team to a long list of 13+ win teams that have not won it all this decade:

'00 Titans
'01 Steelers
'01 Rams
'01 Bears
'03 Chiefs
'04 Steelers
'04 Eagles
'05 Seahawks
'05 Colts
'05 Broncos
'06 Ravens
'06 Chargers
'06 Bears
'07 Patriots
'07 Colts
'07 Packers
'07 Cowboys
'08 Titans
'09 Colts
'09 Chargers
'10 Patriots
'10 Falcons

Let's stop acting like a dominant regular season entitled us to winning it all.

Don't expect anything and be grateful when you get something.

Well I just changed my fantasy team name from "Belichick's Three Rings" to "Patriots are Chokers". It is what it is.

Since the 2004 SB we've played :

2005 - bad game against Denver
2006 - bad choke against Indy, win but poor play vs. SD
2007 - bad choke in the SB, win but poor play vs. SD, good game vs. Jax
2009 - bad game vs. Balt
2010 - bad choke vs. jesters

It Is What It Is.

going to the play-offs it is allready a great result

so: first i will be always satisfied-happy when we will reach them

after that, as we know, anything can happen

i was more depressed after BAL loss then yesterday's one, i do not know why but this is what i feel

In my eyes choking is only blowing a big lead.

Nope. My overriding concern is larger than the playoffs and it has to do with the fact that it seems like every year there seems to be one glaring deficiency that should have been corrected well before it came around to kill them. Four years ago it was very obvious early in the season that Brady didn't have enough receiving weapons. Next to nothing was done to fix the problem within that season, and despite improbably winning over a 14 - 2 Chargers team, it came back to haunt them in the AFC title game where an easy catch was dropped.

This year it was pretty obvious that the defensive play on third down needed to get better and it never happened. Never even seemed like much of a priority. It is almost as if it got overlooked because Brady played well enough to put up 30+ in almost every game and win 14 games. The lopsided time of possession in that game against the Packers was a huge warning sign that seems to have been ignored.

More than anything, this reflects on Belichick the talent evaluator. If what we're seeing is teams that are actually overachieving relative to their abilities, why isn't this team putting better players on the roster?

If you are the better team going in and you lose you have choked. My opinion, of course.

With all the holes on this team at the onset of the season nobody thought they would even make the play-offs. Maybe there's a lesson to be learned that the regular season record doesn't mean sqat when the play-offs begin. I think the team took this game too lightly.

Maybe we have become spoiled fans but last night was abysmal!!!They looked unprepared. This team is not executing come the playoffs!!!!The excuse was that it was a young team.I dont buy it!!!!You have a home game and you come up with that performance?

***** happens. I have learnt to cope with patriots play off losses I guess  But yes, I need a break to reload for next year. Can't wait for the draft.

I lost faith in the Pats in the playoffs last year when they let the Ravens roll in and crush them on their home field. This just cemented it. Not a huge deal, and it's not the worst thing in the world going back to rooting for an NFL team that you can't count on in the playoffs (still no worse off than just about every other team's fans), but the shift has definitely happened.

Would you have rather experienced a 2-14 NFL Season?

Do you realize the extent of the injuries to the defensive line prior the 2010 AFC Divisional Playoffs?

Do you realize the extent of the injuries to the offensive line prior to the 2010 AFC Divisional Playoffs (Neal, Kaczur)?

Do you realize that the New England Patriots have made a conscious decision to rebuild the defense via the NFL Draft? Would you rather have Adalius Thomas, Derrick Burgess, Jarvis Green, and Shawn Springs on the roster this year?

I hope the media loses faith. This team always plays best when they are underdogs and when everyone doubts them.

I still think New England will be the favorites to win the AFC East next year, and I think they'll be a tad stronger than they were this season, as they have a ton of potential with their young players.

As long as you don't run a square peg, round hole philosophy like the Bills do, you're set.

Why would anyone lose faith?

It is really really hard to even get to a Super Bowl and while we may have been spoiled to how difficult it really is you still have to believe there is enough talent/potential/and draft picks to get back to the promiseland otherwise get the hell out.
