I was really upset that they didn't bring back Weis and/or Romeo crennel. I thought the pats were not aggressive enough in showing interest in them - i know BB made some calls but Pioli was much more aggressive and it helped the chiefs turn into a first place team.

Im not sold on BOB as OC - I think the pats would be wise to bring back Josh McDaniels. It's clear that McD won't get a HC job within the next few years but will be a hot commodity as a potential OC. The offensive game plan last night was horrendous - seriously, run the ball constantly with 10 minutes left in the game and down by two scores? I just think we miss that creativity and ability to make adjustments that Weis brought. Weis is the type of guy who will get in your face and tell u to stop being a bunch of whiny babies when things are going wrong. i can't imagine BOB doing that - for some reason he strikes me as a Belichick stooge.

On D, i think naming Patricia or pepper as DC would help but i am happy with the way the defense played this year given the lack of depth at DLine and lack of pass rushers.

Besides addressing the pass rush, i think this is the most important offseason need to address.

What do you guys think of bringing back McDaniels?

It's probably not in those guys best interests to come off a failed job performance back to where they had success before. Why?

If it worked out again back with NE, then there is reason to doubt whether they contributed to that success or if they were just micromanaged by a great coach.

Their next opportunity at a head coaching position would arise more quickly if they were to succeed in an environment where success was not assured, a spot in which they can claim some credit for a resurgence.

you are upset they didnt bring back weis ? who wouldve left in an yr or two and bb left scrambling ? look at all the avg teams in the league ...they hire and fire OC/DC left and right every yr and never go anywhere. IT was one bad game. this pats team beat everyone in the playoffs who is playing. BOB couldve done a better job but he as did evryone else had a bad day at the office yesterday. Lets not jump to knee jerk reactions suddenly. Like they say about QBs,every fan's favorite player is the backup QB because no one has seen him .Similarly its easy to say changing OC's will make you unbeatable after 1 loss.

Let's not fix what ISN'T broken, people!

one game? BOB was the offensive play caller last year against the ravens and last night's game against the jets looked the same to me. part of being an OC is making adjustments in the middle of the game - i saw none last night, how about you? who cares if BB is left scrambling after a year or two - if that means winning the sb NOW then it doesn't matter.

u want an OC for a playoff game loss ? and does jmcd and charlie and romeo gurantee a SB win. if u can gurantee it the lets bring them back if all these hypothetical coaches are willing to come just because BB is calling them. About adjustments - BOB didnt throw the INT on the screen pass or drop the TD in the EZ . You score an early TD, it changes the jets approach. Give the jets credit, they played a great defensive game plan and sometimes you have to give credit where is due. OC doesnt solve all problems otherwise martz one of the best OC's in the business would be in hot demand everywhere.
And you really think BOB is to blame for ray rice runnimg up the middle for 83 yards to start the game last yr ? Check back at that game and our D.

agreed. O'Brien has proven to be a great regular season coordinator who can't get it done in the postseason. That 7 minute drive in the 4th quarter was unexcusable, and that lies totally on the coaching staff. They were playing like they had a 10 point lead, not like they were the ones who were down by 10. O'Brien and staff made great strides this year, but falled on his face yesterday.

Read BB and brady's explanation about that. They all seem to agree what was done was right. If not , blame bb- he calls the shots.

what's this "one playoff loss business?" it's 2 playoff losses under BOB. look brady was as much a problem last night as the coaching, but brady ain't going anywhere so that leaves us with the coaching. and ray rice running 83 yards last year was only part of the problem - brady, in his last 3 playoff losses and regular season losses to the jets and browns this year, had a familiar deer in the headlights look. his guys were not getting open and he had nowhere to throw - a coach has to step in and say ok, what we're doing is not working let's do this. the jets were showing one thing and doing something else. where was any urgency with 10 minutes left in the game down by 2 scores? If the jets were confusing brady with his blitzes - something which has happened many times in the past - then do something about it. that's what you are paid to do as OC.

Good points.I agree w/ our offenses the lack of urgency/odd play calls...even though the jets d kept stopping the clock with fake injuries.

we can agree to disagree i guess ...and one of the 3 playoff losses was in the SB with Jmcd as the coordinator so i guess he didnt do his job either ...
About the urgency- u can see what bb and brady both said abt it today. BB can always step in and tell BOB to hurry up so this falls on him as a HC.Please dont say now that BB gives leeway to his coords and doesnt interfere in the game. We cant have it both ways. BB officially is both the oc/dc of this team so he can tell BOB to do what he wants.

I personally dont think our offense last playoffs without welker and just moss and no TE or WR was any good . Just my opinion.
Thanks

Horrible idea to change now. They are learning.

One thing they should learn, go under center and focus on play action, for heaven's sake. Brady is good at it.

Patricia? The Patriots have no one to rush the passer.

It's a problem.

BOB may have called a bad game, but he improved alot first season to 2nd. He is still learning and I expect improvement, playoff time as well. If we come back next year and have the same struggles then maybe you can start calling for his head.

The OC should be fired for allowing the offense to bleed out the clock in the 4th. Its like they were content with losing, no urgency.

The Pats were taking what the Jets gave us. That and every time we started to move the ball a jet player would fall down "hurt".

I wonder if they will try that in pittsburgh. This team is so far out of balance that it is ridiculous. Its seems to be hung up on the Chuck and Duck. When the Jets dared the Pats to run we should have run it down there throats. The Jets can't score if Sanchez is not on the field.

The coaching staff need sto be lown up. Dump the 3-4 defense (everyone is doing it) and knows how to defeat it. 5 really big guyrs taking on 3 big guys and then beating on smaller LB's is not a way to win.

Times change. This isn't 2004 anymore.

It Is What It Is Bits from Bill Belichick: Coach talks about loss, what’s ahead for the team and the uncertain labor situation
On that fourth quarter drive, were you hoping for more urgency? “I hoped to score. That’s what I hoped for. I hoped to score. There’s five minutes to go in the game, over five minutes to go in the game, when we were stopped on the fourth-and-13. But if we score on that drive, it’s a one-score game with five minutes to go in the game. That’s not the position you want to be in, but it’s not a bad position to be in. Without the score, now you’re down by two scores with five minutes to go. Now that’s a problem.”

Would you go hurry up? “I wouldn’t have done that, no. Nope.”
