Nest to Cleveland and the Jest away that was TB's worst performance of the season by a long way, missed receivers, bad decisions, clock management, holding on to the ball far too long

Was it just a bad game, poor play calling, poor separation by the WR's, great jets coverage. All the above?

Probably all of the above. He choked hardcore. Looked almost scared out there, like a deer in the headlights.

That he did but wonder why, was it the sacks, the playcalling, Welker's benching? He just looked flat, no emotion as the leader of that offense

My buddy speculated that something big happened behind the scenes that we'll be hearing about later. But that's just pure speculation. I'm really not too sure to be honest. Only Brady and the coaching staff know why. But it wasn't only Brady. There were only a handful of players that showed up today and the coaching staff completely took the day off.

Was reading about how the jets players credited a new game plan to confuse brady and disrupt the time, it appears to have worked. So after reading that i put most of the blame on poor coaching by the patriots.

Maybe he was afraid of throwing a pick

I have no idea what has happened to Tom Brady. His performance last night reminded me so much of the Giant SB game. Brady looked flat, unemotional, confused at times. Did not look or act like a leader on the field. Brady lacks mental toughness right now and I don't know why.

He seemed ok before the INT and seemed ok when we needed to score even though one can say the Jets were playing softcoverage at the end.

There was no disruption of timing. Brady had forever to throw. A passing offense finds it very difficult when neither wideout commands a double team.

i just dont understand why brady would play a deer in headlights type game. He has the experience, he was coming off of a great regular season, and its TFB.

Those sacks early in the game probably rattled him. I think he knew it was going to be a long day at the office, and that shook him mentally.

Man not to blame the D (they had a decent game), but imagine if holmes did not make that amazing catch after we scored a touchdown (80 yard drive TD?). All the momentum would have favored us.

I mean, all of us were pretty darn certain that Tom Brady was better this year than he has ever been, so why should we be worried about him declining?

The worst part of this all is that the patriots and tom brady played their worst games AT ******* HOME. I don't get this...

Thats what I saw. The early sacks (more Koppen issues of pressure up the middle) seemed to rattle him and get him jittery and I saw a lot of locking onto Branch/Welker instead of looking to the TE's or the dump off to the RB's. I saw the WR's getting the sort of separation they've been getting all year with small windows where Brady would throw the ball low where only they could get it but he either didnt make the throw or threw behind them. Was almost like the first pick got in his head and he couldnt get over it

If he was the TB he'd been all year we win that game, no question

The thing with Brady now is you can see early when his game is bad and doesnt get better. Was the same in the first Jets game and at Cleveland

I agree he didn't look great, but I didn't see him miss open guys either. The replays I saw showed exellent coverage by the jets. I don't know as a quarterback how much you can do with that!

Because of the hyper ventilating into his cup and blowing a huge snot-bomb on national TV.

When he doesn't feel pressure he's good

But when Calvin Pace rocked him he got scared and wasn't making plays and not communicating with receivers like WOodhead, Branch, and Gronk.

Brady just isn't that good anymore when it really counts in the post season.

The key was the solid coverage on the receivers (as well as throwing off the routes on the receivers disrupting timing), pressure without having to blitz, and mixing up the pre-snap reads to make it more difficult for the receivers and Brady to be on the same page. What confused me the most was why they didn't start in the no huddle in the second half, as there was no sense of urgency on the long drive in the 4th quarter, it was very poor clock management. What Branch said on the 5th Quarter show was that they wanted to make sure they were organized and had the right play called against their defense, which doesn't make much sense to me. Perhaps the game plan didn't have any no huddle so they didn't practice it much during the week, or whatnot. It didn't seem like they were prepared in the no huddle late game situation. I think the right strategy would have been to start the no huddle on the first drive of the 3rd quarter to tire down their pass rush (e.g. Shaun Ellis) and to increase the tempo of the offense, which seemed out of sync the entire night.

Yep, something was off before the game even began, I wonder if that was smelling salts.

I think your buddy is right, there was something wrong and it was beyond the play of the Jets defense or the offensive line. Something else was up.
