As much as it sucked losing today, thinking about all the positives for next season makes me feel a little bit better.

-Looking forward to another year with Brady and Belichick as the leaders of the team.

-Continued awesomeness of DMC

-Looking forward to healthy returns of Ty Warren and Bodden

-Continued progression of Spikes, Cunningham, Gronk, Hernandez, Mesko, and Chung.

-3 picks in the top 33 of the draft is going to not only give us a lot of room to upgrade within the draft, but also send one of those picks for established vets, (hello Fitz or Megatron...?) never no right...

Next years team will be better, nobody expected this team to play and win like they did this year. It sucks they didnt play Patriots football in the biggest game of the year but hey ***** happens...

The team is going to reload with more added talented youth, maybe even some well established vets still in their prime, coupled with the return of key solid starters that were injured, plus continued development of this years rooks, this team will be primed next year to make some noise in the playoffs, this team wasnt.

I give 5 to 1 odds a certain poster (SPP for short) drops a bomb in this thread within an hour of this post.

yeah lets be excited, about a season that may not happen , when we had home field advantage number 1 seed and all we had to do is beat a coach who could not hold a candle to our coach and qb ,but we screwed the pooch on that one didnt we......

Cry me a river. Why even be a fan if you cant get excited for the future and be positive? I bet your the type of fan who is only happy and proud of his team when they win a SB every year ha. Number 1 seed and HF dont mean a damn thing unless you go out and perform like your capable of, this team was flat and uninspired on the biggest game of the year, but it happens to the best of them.

Hey fellas, tonight sucked, no doubt about it......
It is only a football game, we must remember that.
Aside from that, the jets beat us fair and square, we have to give them props(as much as it hurts) and move on. And move on we shall, with 8 picks in the first 4 rounds, we actually do have a bright future. Our defense relied on mostly rookies, they will be formidable to say the least next year. Also, the pats usually do a pretty good job in the draft, I'm praying for patrick peterson. Anyways, fellow pats fans, just congratulate any jets fans who give you **** and say we'll see you next season, and everything will be ok..

i dont know, this patriots team SHOULD only get better.

The problem is, this years path to the superbowl was perfect for us. We would be avoiding the colts (give us problems), the ravens (play us tight), and we were supposed to own the jets (Raped them 45-3). And if we got by the jets, we own the steelers.

But, i dont know how we would have fared against green bay.

We have no choice. We say/do this every year. We underperformed.

Disagree with one notion, I don't see too many vets in their prime coming here due to the labor situation. If the current CBA expires, there's likely no free agency and no player trades during the draft. Free agency would begin when the new CBA is signed, possibly as late as September.

Still, I'm excited about the young talent that will be added to this roster. Maybe some of that young talent will play DE or OLB too.

My cubicle was decked out in Jets stuff this morning. Nice pic of Rex Ryan taped to my monitor.

The future can't get here quick enough as far as I'm concerned!

I say take the JEST stuff home, burn it in the fireplace, tape the burning, and send that to your JEST-loving colleagues.

Getting some/most of the current IRed players would make this team substantially better. Add in the draft, and there's still a lot to be excited about even if free agency is delayed.

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No your not right, I found a perfect post to respond to. Fact is, the Patriots over-achieved this year. 14-2, how many fans thought the Pats would come close to this? They got beat by a decent team with a great defense. One of the worst things about losing is to come on this board and read the posts of bandwagon fans. If anyone thinks that is absurd, read the threads in the off-season compared to the ones after a huge loss. How many rookies started this year? The leading receiver comes back from knee surgery. The team trades a HoF receiver and restructures its offense mid-season. The team loses two defensive starters before the season begins, its kicker, an offensive lineman (penciled to start), and two defensive linemen heading into the playoffs. I forgot, what was your point?
