I wasn't so sure during the game, but now that it is over and I look back, I think the Jets just plain won today. It wasn't flukey, they beat the Patriots, and that feels good. Mind you, for whatever reason, it doesn't make me supremely confident going to Pitt next weekend.

Today made it more clear than before that stopping the Pats requires stopping Brady. I have been around football a long time, I can't stand ball watchers and I hate it when the TV people give 1 player all the credit...but with the Pats it really does come down to Brady. At least this year because they struggled a bit on D. When he is off, the team is off. Maybe that is the case for all teams but when you're at the elite level like the Pats are, and specifically the elite level Brady is at, being able to limit him is what gives you your chance. If you can't do it, you have no chance.

I think the Pats should use at least 1 of their first round picks on a defensive player. I really, truly hope they don't go after a first round RB because I have so much respect for Danny Woodhead and want him to be successful. I want that guy to wear a SB ring one day.

For all the talk about the talk...I think people need to understand that a lot of the quotes are taken out of context....they're sarcasm that's not represented properly in the press or a fragment of a statement that is selected to give a writer (who is a journalism major, not an athlete) an interesting article. At the end of the day, all the players and coaches do is answer honestly, and they have the freedom to be blunt or be vague...but as Rex said all week...all season really, he and the team respect their opponent. As you saw at mid-field today between Bill and Rex, there is a lot of respect there and at the end of the day, it's football, it is competition.

As emotional as fans get about it, I think you're better served to have a technical understanding of the game so that you can analyze the on-field action for yourself....when you watch football for the football, and know about blocking, d-line play, and coverage calls, the talk doesn't matter...the game does.

Your right about that, the Jets played better than the Pats, simple as that and Brady had an awful game today, not sure how many of the passes behind the recievers were on him but he definately had a bad day.

Patriots didn't show up period, and they were still in the game until the end. If they were mentally there from the get go it would have been a Pats win.

I think if you'd flipped over the NFL Network and watched Rex's postgame, and were willing ot be objective, you'd have a different opinion.

If one player goes over the line and you attribute that to an entire corporation (which is what every team is, let's not fool ourselves), then it's your faulty logic that's the issue, not the 100 or so other people employed by the team.

Just got back from the game. I don't have 50 posts or I would start a new thread. But the Jets beat us today with the 46 defense. There were maybe 4 or 5 times they didn't run it. We NEVER adjusted even a little. There were NO open receivers whatsoever. NONE as every route was under, with 9 OR 10 in the BOX!!!! RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! We needed to go over the top! aND THE HOME FIELD CROWD WAS TERRIBLE. AWFUL. AHHH THE HELL WITH IT.

Nice to see a classy Jets fan, first off.

Yeah, the Pats didn't execute, but that happens. Here's what did it for me:

Lack of heart. Brady, in all those Super Bowl years (even 01, when he was a no-name pedestrian 24 year old QB) was fired up as hell, and using his charisma and feeding off the veterans around him. Well, now he's the only veteran on offence.

The Jets now are like us in 01. Experienced defense, good running game, young QB who has a long way to go and can look average at times (yet comes up in the clutch), and major underdogs. Albiet, we talked a lot less trash in 2001

Respectability? They were the #1 seed in the AFC. I dont believe too many teams lost respect for them.

Also I would say the defense played well tonight. All things considered they gave up one big play and made many stops. The Jets were giving great starting postion for most of the game that is not the Defense's fault
