The fake punt was EXACTLY the kind of shot in the arm that wins games that you ain't otherwise winning. See, Chung isn't supposed to DROP THE BALL there.
The play worked, the player dropped the ball. When these aggressive plays are executed, he's Norman Einstein.
according to twitter, Chung called the Fake punt
Ok, then how about the fans at Gillette? Sad really... Down two scores with minutes to go, and the stadium is half empty....Really?? With Tom Brady on your team?? That was shocking. Then you come within ONE SCORE to tie the game with time remaining! Unbelievable faint-hearted fans that give up on their team. Granted it wouldnt be easy, but you have Tom Brady folks!! I dont ever want to hear guff from your fanbase about other fans. Ridiculous really.
Dude, the coaches were bad today. Yeah they weren't the whole problem, they weren't a majority of the problem, but they were bad.
- Benching Welker. This was completely unnecessary and just a stupid move. In the playoffs, each play counts, let alone each drive. We'll never know how different the first drive would have played out, if at all, but it remains a stupid move that put the team at a disadvantage.
- Wasting an early challenge/TO. Yeah it didn't come back to haunt us, but still another stupid decision. No proof whatsoever that ball hit the ground and really could have bit us worse than that.
- The fake punt was a BAD CALL. I could care less what it should/would do, this was an act of desperation when the game was 7-3. When you're a 14-2 team playing at home and getting the ball to begin the 2nd half, why are you risking giving the ball away at MIDFIELD when you're defense is already being hung out to dry for most of the quarter. Bad call.
- We finally get some offensive momentum going throwing from the gun and upping the tempo a little so what do we do on the following drive? Come out with a ridiculously slow tempo (not sure if that was on the players or coaches, but the complete lack of urgency you would have to assume a coach would say "get your ass up to the line and snap the ball")
was that a relative of albert?
The crowd was absolutely pathetic from start to finish today. They weren't even loud when the defense was on the field in the first quarter. What happened at the end of the game was just par for the course.
Was that a relative of Albert?
Kontra, I noticed that. When NY had the ball, it was a gentle buzz of noise. Then giving up on the team? These arent the Bills youre rooting for.....you have a SB team and Brady at the helm. ANYTHING can hapen. What gives?

I'd say that about sums it up. The coaching staff **** the bed today. Zero question about that. The Welker benching in particular was just bizarre given that this was a playoff game. Make him run laps. Buy snacks all week after practice. Fine him. It was just silly.
This one is going to sting and it should, particularly for the guys wearing the headsets.
The Pats looked like they confused themselves on offense
Players out of position, Brady holding the ball forever. I heard the announcers say the Pats were running a whole new set of plays. Well that didn't seem to work at all
It reminded me of what Rex said about the last game. His game plan was so exotic it ended up confusing the players and caused more harm than good.
Nobody in the game of football should be called a genius. A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein.
Joe Theismann, Former quarterback
The challenge? No way he caught that clean. Unfortunately, without a better angle, the play on the field stands.
Why can't people accept we failed to make crucial plays, while the Jets made some. They even missed a chippie field goal, but we didn't take advantage.
We made plenty of big plays in our winning seasons and other teams can make them too. Learning experience.
